Terrible way to buy a great game
Faux Reel, Amazon
29 August 2009
Summary: Brief and to the point: contains both games included here, as well as Dark Crusade and is much cheaper ($27.99 as of this writing) the Dark Crusade expansion adds 2 more playable races and a new campaign. Why pay more for less?
Summary: The game is not very good because the campaign is lacking consistancy. During battles for each region of each planet you spend a ton of resourses on ifrastructure. After the battle ALL of your hard won buildings are gone! each time you defend that region you start from scratch.
Summary: My rig isn't on steroids, so I expected the same if not identical gaming experience I had with Dawn of War Series. I have the recommended requirements well above the recommended requirements, and yet, the game runs choppy, sloppy and the load times are unacceptable compared to Relic's last stand...
Conclusion: Loved all the DoW games. Dark Crusade was mind blowing when 1st played. Really thought the designers of DoW would've put the effort into Soul Storm. Alas not. have to agree with most other reviews. Air support is naff & have used it once. You lose all you build when the fight moves on etc etc.
Summary: I love dawn of war, and as soon as soulstorm came out i was excited to get my hands on it. however in truth this game adds not much - 2 races (one of which, the sisters of battle are incredibly terrible and their turrets have serious trouble killing grots)and Dark eldar.
Summary: i had really high hopes watching the relic forums and trying to guess what is in the game, and as a game its half decent, but it does seem far too rushed. some details and shading is off, some of the layers are out of sync, (the tau hq and sisters of battle immolator are two examples) the flying...
Summary: A contender for one of the worst expansions ever? Quite possibly. "You get to battle across an entire solar system!" ... Four planets, each with about 5 provinces each, and 3 moons. Our solar system has 8 planets. It only adds nine more provinces than Dark Crusade. "Rain death from the air!" Hardly.
Summary: Ok...I have been with Dawn of War since the beginning, and have bought all the expansions religiously. However, Soulstorm is definitely the black sheep of the lot. The original was great, Winter Assault was better, Dark Crusade brought something new into the series but Soulstorm....ouch.
Summary: After having mastered the original edition of Warhammer i saw this as a well needed addition to my gaming library. Before you buy this be prepared or forewarned that this game even on it's easiest setting is almost impossible to beat.
