Summary: warbirds is a great game i have had red Barron for over a year so i am trying dogfights i like the tons of missions you can fly. my only complaint is the updates air to far and wide i have to wait forever to get en update
Summary: Warbirds dogfights...both the ww11 and red baron simulators are excellent combat flight simulators...but you have to fly them,if you expect that its going to be a just jump in there and shoot them down sort of game you are in for dissapointment. It takes commitment and hours of combat practice to stand your ground in a fight and you have to use your head! Tactics, tactics,is what its all about..
Summary: Good combat fighter sim. Although not a popular as IL-2 which is the gold standard these days this was a welcome addition to my vast array of sims. It has it's quirks as they all do and it may not stand up to some others but it is enjoyable and it works with Win7x64 OS's
Summary: The training missions are fun but as I learned during my first takeoff, the aircraft pulls sharply to the left on the ground and holding down right rudder (D key) only takes you off the runway and inevitably make you crash. Configuring your joystick doesn't help nor does calibrating it over and over. The problem is in the program. Then when you take off and manage to get within range of your aerial target, if he gets behind you, you never find him.
Summary: As others have said, game is unplayable do to the controls. I have a Logitech Extreme 3D joystick and it works well with the original Warbirds and have set the controls for Warbirds Dogfights the same. ANY attempt to climb or turn results in a flat spin. Try to dogfight flying in a straight line only !!! WORTHLESS !!!!
Summary: It's kind of hard, but once you learn it it's cool.Needs a little more info in the hand book and the website. But i dig it. I have a mac it crashs some, but o'well. I think the company needs to give and up to date list of joysticks, that works with the game on the mac. I got it cheap on amazon, but some of there sellers have it over 25, so i think I got a good deal. So is it worth 25 plus? Well if you have other fighter games and want something new go for it.
Summary: I'm not sure if the game is just that bad or if I can't get the controls to configure properly. As another reviewer states "It's like trying to balance a BB on a marble in a moving car." I've played around with numerous other sims and will be going back to them.
Summary: I've flown in Warbirds for nearly five years now and I've tried most of the other online sims. For me, Warbirds is the best combat sim out there. The offline game is adequate, with lots of challenging missions and good diversity of missions and aircraft. The flight model is realistic and challenging. If you try to just turn and burn you will be shot down. The stand out characteristics of Warbirds is the online experience.
