Conclusion: War Front: Turning Point really doesn’t do anything new for RTS games but it does take a neat story idea and combine it with some pretty cool units. It is a pretty fun game to play, especially if you can find a friend.
Excerpt: As a human being, I am decidedly imperfect. In fact, I am a bundle of flaws: physical, intellectual, emotional--you name the aspect of existence, and I'll show you a glaring fault. As a result, I am sometimes intimidated by perfection. Have I read that great American novel? Maybe I'm not worthy.
Excerpt: Being a big fan of The History Channel, it's always fun when they ask "what if" something happened differently than the actual event. And this type of speculative history has been a mainstay of fiction books for some time, with authors like Harry Turtledove really pushing it to its limits.
Summary: War Front: Turning Point explores an alternate World War II, one in which Hitler is assassinated in the early days, and you will take command of experimental weapons, prototype vehicles and units rarely seen in strategy games in an attempt to alter or secure the historical outcome of World War II.
Excerpt: An interesting RTS game that poses a different version of history. The inclusion of some of the future and experimental weapons add a new dimension to what is basically another World War II based strategy game.
Pros: A new twist on the World War II strategy genre that includes some interesting units and some great campaign scenarios.
Cons: There are some critical bugs that often result in the game hanging at scenario completion on our gaming rig.
