Summary: Great Hidden Object Scenes, but the adventure is only mediocre. Hardly any animations, no voice overs, no interactive Hidden Object Scenes and a lot of backtracking. But I will take into consideration that this game is already 5 years old. And it is Alawar, meaning that the graphics are crisp and clear. Some objects are extremely well hidden, even though a few are impossible to find. A brown object on a brown background, that kind of misery.
Summary: Vampire Saga: Pandora's Box had an interesting story, but I didn't think it was much fun to play. Mostly it is a hidden object game, with a bit of adventure game inventory collection. There weren't any minigame puzzles in the game. Maybe the developers thought minigames would destroy the mood. The graphics were gray and monochromatic and some of the hidden objects were small and blurry and very difficult to find. Several things were mislabeled.
Summary: It was an ok game. I liked the theme and there were plenty of hidden objects scenes to play. Graphics were pretty good although the scenes were quite dark and there was definitely lack of colour. Music was ok but was kind of repetitious. Sound, effects and animation were acceptable. Story was ok and I liked playing both characters in the past and present scenes. The mini-games were ok too but were more of easy difficulty.
Summary: The gameplay wasn't too bad. The HO scenes were sometimes hard to see and objects they asked for were confusing at times. Had to use the hint more than I usually do because I had no idea what they were asking me to find. The dialogue was verrrrry slow. They don't give you the option of clicking on it to move on to the next sentence.....you just have to wait it out.
Summary: The story was different and creepy. I liked the Hidden Object scenes. It was a bit confusing, and I did have to use the "Walkthrough" several times, or I would have succumbed to the vampire on the boat! I did spend alot of time going from place to place, finding nothing, and then suddenly, a sparkle would appear to reveal a HO scene. Not a game for replay, unless you wait a long time. For the price, it was worth it.
Summary: I guess I'm going to have to go against the majority here. I really disliked this game. The way the people were animated was really creepy, the gameplay was just so-so (espcially when you have to go back and forth and search the same area over and over again). And i'm not sure many things are worse in an HoG than something being mislabeled or having more than one of the same thing in a room but wanting only one or the other.
Summary: I must have downloaded this game 3x as a demo. I never made it through I never got very far into it because it was hard to see the HO's. Then I finally got desperate for something to play so I bought this based on the original review. Boy am I glad I did. I found it to be a very atmospheric experience. Yes, there are some language challenges, but it makes one think out of the box. If there is no spoon in sight, it has to be the honey "spoon".
