Nothing new...

Big Joe '83, Amazon
13 January 2004
  • Summary: Epic Megagames have really jumped the boat since their heydays, but they were very lucky with Unreal and Unreal Tournament. Both were fantastic and simple games to play which hearld back to the days of DOOM.

Exciting at first, but dies a quick death

Giuseppe "gmarino81", Amazon
9 October 2003
  • Summary: At first this game really blew me away. The graphics and sound are impressive and the gameplay, and weapons in particular, are very cool. The novelty soon wears off though. The game is now gathering dust on my hard drive (hmmmm...

Disappointing

Chris, Amazon
25 August 2003
  • Summary: The long-anticipated revolution never came. With Doom 3 and Half-Life 2 (the next generation in FPS's) endlessly delayed, the gaming world turned its hopeful eyes to Unreal Tournament 2003. And finished with nothing.

Engine is great, but that's about it.

"striderhien_109", Amazon
12 June 2003
  • Summary: The people who worked on the engine and graphics for UT 2003 deserve the credit. They put out a top-notch product that can be customized heavily (modders rejoice!). However, they seriously lacked in gameplay and in new ideas.

A shoot the duck game (with bells and whistles)

Amazon
18 January 2000
  • Summary: This game appears to have lost something in the transition from the original Unreal Tournament. What I liked about the original was the ability to play strategically and execute clever plans. This is more of a 'fragfest', and requires much less skill (something that's evident in online play).

Child's Game

War Gamer, Amazon
18 January 2000
  • Summary: I just bought this game at the store yesterday. I never played Part one, so I really didn't know what to expect. According to the box, I thought it was going to be some kind of futuristic gladiator sport game but it is not that at all, it's just a "shooter" game.

Sorry, it's just a rehash.

Amazon
18 January 2000
  • Summary: How I wanted to like this game! It's a rehash of the original with some cosmetic tweaks. Even some of the most 'fun' weapons are missing (sniper rifle, blade-thrower). The only thing 'new' is the bombing run game, which, sorry, just isn't that great. Colour me disappointed.
