Universe at War: Earth Assault will most likely make you remember the days when you were playing Starcraft. Still, it's better than Starcraft. The races are so varied and flexible that the game is highly replayable and each time you could try another tactic. Which is really good for a RTS game. Unfortunately, the flaws the campaign comes with, as well as the story that brings nothing new for the genre, might not be something the hardcore RTS fans will appreciate. And... Read more

You can compare with a rough diamond. While it has several beautiful features like three races, innovating gameplay and cross-over multiplayer, it sadly also has some negative points. The Windows Live service is a bit of trial and error and the interface is too empty for an RTS game on PC. But if you can ignore these negative points, you can expect a more than decent RTS experience. Read more

Universe at War delivers a unique, fresh gaming experience with factions that have truly innovative concepts sewn intrinsically into them. Unfortunately, it suffers from a few interface issues and bugs that, while not crippling the game, can frequently make it somewhat annoying to play. Though its remarkable faction balance shines in a multiplayer arena, the necessity of a pay-per-month scheme to unlock all online gaming options hinders the game greatly. Universe at War... Universe at War: Earth Assault is, to be brief, a very good real-time strategy game you should try out, if nothing else. Once again, the gents and ladies at Petroglyph haven't disappointed. However, there's still nothing groundbreaking to be had here and due to the aforementioned slip ups, the game failed to achieve its full potential. But it comes very close. Read more

Overall Universe at War can be a lot of fun for strategy fans. However, some annoyances and the lack of any real innovation may be enough to turn off the more casual player or those who are burned out on the standard strategy game paradigm. Read more

it's a fun game...but you can only play the first part offline...the other half is online. so i only can review half of it... because i have dial-up. it's like spellforce with a whole end of the world twist. now i like rts's and rpg's so for me this was a great game... but many people say it's bad... but that's probably because they never played a good rts. the graphics are great, the music is kinda cool, the gameplay is super easy, and the story is pretty good. overall... The game has some good ideas but the devs have closely tied your hands behind your back and most of the time you are trying to follow your troops vs leading them in battle. Take the game back to the store. Do not be decieved. Read more

This game was a joy to play. It has 3 very separate and distinct sides to play as. It really caters well to different play styles and provides many different ways to apply battlefield tactics. You play in a typical Top-Down perspective like Command and ... Read more
