Summary: I didn't play Tropico games before, but I like strategies in general. This game doesn't look like a good one. There are lots of issues. Here are just few of them: - if you want to build a few structures, the workers build only a first one and then stop working; - no help or user manual at all; no learning campaign or hints; - other issues that make learning/playing really hard. Overall, I dissatisfied with this item.
Summary: I bought Tropico 3 and played it in one evening. The game holds no replay value to speak of. Everything about the game is a well worn path. Off the top of my head I remember "never fear, el presidente is here!" That's what your little man/dictator/whatever said on occasion when you sent him to visit an establishment on the island. The game is pretty flat when it comes to purpose.
Summary: I have a Wii to goof around on, but like to play a PC game here and there because it is more laid back. This game fit the bill. Entertaining, relaxed pace, funny, interesting challenge, and I could calmly sip a brew while playing after work. In fairness, I don't quite have the specs to run the game at full performance. So I can't give you a rundown on the graphics, etc.
Summary: If you like sitting around watching grass grow..or rather watching a city grow. Then you may like Tropico 3. The game does have some good qualities although not many. I like the different factions and political discussions at your disposal. Pretty much life as Tropico's rulers involves building something. Watching your money and population grow. Then building something else. It's really a never ending cycle of building, watching, building.
Summary: I expected more than I experienced from the makers of this game, Pros....... I liked the Avatar that you can customize Graphics were nice Game play options/ choices are nice Cons.... Game is super slow, even when you select the fastest play speed, frankly it left me bored to the point of discust. Video control is the game spoiler, you have to constantly fight to keep your camera view where you want it, and that is a BIG distration from the gameplay.
