Summary: Got Tropico 3 Gold Edition with high hopes. Enjoyed the previous versions. Installed, entered serial num. Got periodic bug that prevents resuming play when an event pauses the game that occurred twice on first non-tutorial game. Tried downloading patches. Apparently the patch got rid of my serial number and had to reload it which failed saying it was a bad number. Uninstalled and then reinstalled. Then got boxes with Fs on them instead of villagers. Uninstalled.
Summary: I received this game as a gift last week, and it hasn't worked properly. Most of the people in the game are pink "F" boxes and there are few details in scenery (textures, objects, trees, etc.). I have the required system specs, and it just doesn't work. Kalypso support has been contacted 3 times, and to date (about 4 days after most recent contact) I have not received a reply. In short, very poor (or non-existent) customer support.
Summary: Plays much like the original Tropico. This version, however, crashes quite frequently and often is unable to load a saved game. And my requests (yes, plural) for support have gone unanswered. So I guess I have a $20 coaster.
