Summary: This is a more interesting version to the Tropico Family instead of being more of the same it is something different from the "same".The animation of drunken pirates returning to their ships to answer boarding call, is entertaining to say the least. The ships are fairly realistic and I have not seen a three masted brig as in other naval games I have played.
Summary: Remember buying the game as a kid and loved the graphics, gameplay and how easy yet complex the game was. I was about 13 and I could figured it all out pretty easy. I just recently rebought it for old time fun and I play for at least a hour a day! I highly buying it for its value. Not many games you can get for $4 now and still like more then 90% of all the crap out now.
Summary: Decent title for the good money. Nothing spectacular, worth not more than $10. Unlike previous Tropico, this one has different ruling and building structure. May not be the best for somebody looking to get easy game - very hard to achieve certain goals. Good luck.
Summary: Its a pretty good game. The only problem is that your resources got used up pretty quick...but that was a matter of strategy. The graphics were okay, pretty good for little tiny people. What I found the most amusing was the zombie workers. If one of the pirates died you could plant them in the graveyard and for a price you could have voodoo done on them and voila! A zombie worker! They worked non-stop but really freaked out the other pirates.

Excerpt: arrrr! Welcome to pirate cove, matey! Home to the filthiest, dirtiest, randiest pirates this side of the carribean! Here be all the treachery, Debauchery, weaponry and trickery a pirate needs to fulfill his daily needs of cruisin' for treasure! Cheesy intro aside, Tropico 2 is almost completely serious, apart from the fairly comical style it's as close to being a pirate ruler you'll get, unless of course you resurrect the beastly bandits from their watery graves, round...
Pros: nice quality of art, somewhat addictive
Cons: music is sure to drive you potty when sustained
Excerpt: Tropico Paradise Island is an expansion pack for the original Tropico game, where you act as the president of a tropical island, making the decisions what to build, grow and produce, and decide policies such as prohibition and doubling the food available to your people. My favourite feature of this game is just how many options there are.
