Summary: I like the classic wood-n-brass look and other affectations (like ol timey words like 'middlin' and 'preenin'). Its harder than the original to win the sandlot games, but the increased speed of construction alone makes it superior to Tropico I, not to mention many more varieties of whore houses to...
Excerpt: arrrr! Welcome to pirate cove, matey! Home to the filthiest, dirtiest, randiest pirates this side of the carribean! Here be all the treachery, Debauchery, weaponry and trickery a pirate needs to fulfill his daily needs of cruisin' for treasure!
Pros: nice quality of art, somewhat addictive
Cons: music is sure to drive you potty when sustained
Summary: P>I couldn't wait for Tropico 2 , I finally succeeded in grabbing a beta-version and ...disappointment. Huge disappointment. Why ? - first of all, the plot is poor and with no humour at all. Pirates can be funny sometimes ( see Monkey Island ) but this is not the case.
Summary: Ignore that negative review below... This is actually a lighthearted strategy game with lashings of atmosphere and humor. Playability wise, Tropico 2 is a joy to play. In fact I haven’t enjoyed one of these resource management type games as much as this game for quite some time.
Summary: This game really took over my life for a few weeks. I found it really entertaining and challenging. I have to admit that I did not complete all the campaig scenarios, but I did complete most of them, before finally becoming tired of the game. But that was after a long long time.
Summary: Tropico 2, if anything, is even better than the original Tropico. Exploring and sending ships on missions adds significant interest and the same sense of humour apparent in the original Tropico shows in this game too. Tho main downside is the repetetiveness of the game.
