We haven't given this game a higher score simply because it's over too damn quickly, which isn't what gamers will be expecting for a steep price of $29.99 - that's if you're playing the PC version. The PS3 edition will cost 10 bucks less. That in turn makes the only major flaw of this game. Well, that coupled with the fact that there's a small assortment of enemies and very few boss fights to experience. Read more

So there you have it, Trine is a small diamond of a game. It’s fun, entertaining, challenging and most important, it doesn’t pretend to be anything other than it actually is. Except for the multiplayer, there isn’t anything to dislike. If you like those flash games that use physics, you will love this. There were a few small glitches at first, but nothing a small patch couldn’t fix. Read more

Independent games just got better. I have to be quite honest here – I got a download code for this game quite a while back. I installed it, played around with it for a while, and then decided I would play it again later on, and of course forgot about it completely. Having got that off my chest, I now fail to remember why exactly I stopped playing this game, because frankly it’s just too well done to put down. Read more
Checkpoints throughout each of the game's 15 levels are very useful for reviving fallen comrades, regaining lost health, or restarting after an untimely demise, but it is disappointing that the game doesn't allow players to save their progress and re-embark on their journey later from one of these markers. Trine forces players to resume their autosaved games only from the beginnings of each level, replaying what has already been done. Read more

Trine is a throwback to those 2D puzzle platformers that you just don't seem to see any more these days. There's an emphasis on jumping between platforms, defeating enemies, and making it from one edge of a level to another, but to do so you'll usually have to solve a puzzle to open the way. Read more
