Summary: (by my 9 year old son) This is a fun video game. It has a lot of trains, scenery, grass, ground cover, buildings and everything you need to build a whole town. There are four game scenarios and tutorials to get you started. There is a rail yard where you can see all of your rolling stock and engines, and you can even create mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes all on your own (My dad thought that part was really cool). I like this game a lot!
Summary: I had an earlier edition of Trainz and I was very satisfied. I purchased Trainz 2010 and I thought it would be good too. The software crashed every time I tried to use it. The software has a built in debugger to forward data to Auran whenever the software crashes. The crash report has a section where the user can report any pertinent data to Auran. I used that report to request help from Auran multiple times.
Summary: i was so happy when i got this game and i couldnt wait to play it but right after i downloaded it it had alot of problems and it was very slow. i dont know how to fix the issues with it. I like trainz and i hope i can get an answer to fix these problems listed below freezing lagging changes from full screen to a smaller screen long time to load doesnt download properly the buttons in the game are not working if anyone can help it would mean alot and auran needs to step...
Summary: it only runs on a small screen. keeps saying my video card driver is over a year old. checked, there is no new drivers. when the instruction screen come up. it takes the full small screen and you can't get it off.
Summary: Overall, I'm very pleased with Trainz Simulator. Yes, it has a few issues, but what software doesn't? The minor issues certainly haven't taken away from my enjoyment. I have gone through many of the built-in scenarios, and haven't run into any show-stoppers. Every red signal I have encountered was red for a reason. Either another train is coming, or a switch needs to be changed. N3V Games very actively updates the software.
Summary: It is not a game, is much more than that, is a design tool, requires knowledge, but does not run well, maybe it is design flaw, even powerful machines, much more than the program requirements.
Summary: I have always been in a love fantasy with trains. I grew up in a home about 4 houses from the New York Central tracks and spent many many hours walking to the tracks and waiting for one of the many steam trains to come puffing along. Eventually this turned into diesels which I enjoyed almost as much. Had many trains layouts as a kid but now I can recreate so much more on my computer/ It is a lot of fun and easy to get hooked to the game.
