I tried the Demo of this TRS2006 game on march-20-2008

Summary: And Wow!! I really like how the details look in this game and how it runs real good on my PC, My Computer has a intel P4 2.8 GHz chip, 512MB's of ram, an ATI Pro-98 video card with 128MB's of video ram. I'm going to get this full version simulator game. I had Microsoft train simulator before, but I like TRS2006 allot better, it looks and works great on my computer and is more fun to operate and watch.
Summary: This is a simulator. If you like model trains you should love it. The tracks and trains on the disk are fine and the ones you can order to go with it are great. Almost all of the download able content has problems but most of them work, may have areas showing wireframe but still usable. You can even upload your favorite track for others to use if you so wish. I found myself sitting here "messing" with it for eight hours at one sitting so yes it is very addictive.
Summary: I love Train Sims,(Plane and Truck sims too!)But this one here is fun... If you like to just drive the train, Go get Microsoft Train Sim., But if you want to just do your own thing,(Working the train yard,Choose your own loads, ect) Then Trainz is what you need. Plus its a Load and Leave. No C.D.
Summary: Here we have an imitation railroading experience that reminds me of the days when I had an H-O model railroad layout. The main difference is that the various equipment pieces were very accurately detailed in my models, not so in the game software. With Trainz there seems to be a lack of realism in both the interiors of the various locomotive cabs and in the exterior illustrations. One engine cab is totally bereft of controls, guages, and other detailing.
Summary: I bought this game and in true MS form; it was a hassle from the time I opened the box. Much too complicated for the average person or kid; steep learning curve. If your looking to take a train ride don't pick this one. I was so impressed I gave it away!
If you are a Railroading fan, this game is worth your time.

Summary: After having tried the Ultimate Trainz Collection, I decided to see what was new with TRS2006. This simulation is exactly as advertised,...and more! But, after reading some of the reviews here, I would like to offer a realistic view. First, this is a very detailed simulation pertaining to the operation of Locomotives from all over the world (some are historical) in all types of situations (passenger, long haul freight, railyard consist building, etc.
What? We don't have any American trains that are worth while?

Summary: Sometimes I wonder about games such as this. The designers seem to think that the only routes worth having are European or British. Perhaps if I were European or British I might think so too, but I'm not and I happen to like American routes. What about our great ones? Chicago, Burlington and Quincy. Rock Island. Southern Pacific with their great Sunset and Daylight routes. Baltimore and Ohio. New York Central. All these get short shrift when it comes to railroad sims.
Summary: The Merscom TRS2006 that Amazon is selling have a faulty serial number. Amazon should cancel the sales of this product. Without this you will not be able to install any pack addon. Merscom has a very slow and poor support. They gave me a replacement serial that was already being used by somebody else at Planet Auran. Instead buy the Auran version. However, even being old as it is, I prefer much more Microsoft Train Simulator, because of the addons available.
Summary: Reading some of the other reviews, I can see that we have a very mixed opinion on TRS2006. I have owned the original Trainz, then TRS2004, and finally TRS2006. I have never had the 'issues' that some people are complaining about. The S/N may be in one of several places, including the box or the manual. All that aside, this is simply the most enjoyable, mesmerizing game I have ever played.
