Summary: Once installed, I just started playing the game with a mage character and his dog. And kept going, deeper and deeper into a starter dungeon (a beautiful mine shaft actually). I had to stop playing to go see if there were mods available, and there are. I've rarely had this PC game experience, of a game so lushly beautiful and easy to use that I felt I had mastered it before I even learned a single menu control. Everything about this game is slick and plays smoothly.
Summary: Originally played this game in the 2nd part so I wanted to play the original. Beautiful graphic and ease of play make this a family favorite and by changing the settings you can make it kid friendly. Great game!
Fun Game, (Correction: I Was Wrong ->) but Can't Find Patches for Download from Amazon
P. LEE, Amazon
6 January 2014
Summary: This is a fun, nice looking Diablo style game. I can't find the version 1.15 patch that is intended for those who downloaded Torchlight from Amazon. The 1.15 patch has been out for years. I would have expected the patch to be readily available. The game as downloaded from Amazon is labeled as being version 1.0 from Encore. But Encore's website only has patches they intended for use with their DVD's and digital copies purchased from their website.
Summary: In retrospect, Torchlight was the tech demo for Torchlight II, and as such it's limited. If you have played T2, this game is probably not going to be all that interesting to you, as the mechanics are roughly the same, but you're limited to a single, vertical descent dungeon. That said, Torchlight on its own terms is a great game, and in many ways superior to Diablo 2, which was clearly the inspiration.
Summary: This is a clone knock off from the fate game series. Its fun and well done, Graphics work well, audio is good, support is there if you have a problem, It can be a bit laggy on even the best computers when crossing over in to a new territory. There are walkthroughs, cheats and tips available all over the internet. I liked it. Great game concepts. Good combat system. Item alterations and skills are well thought out. Its doesnt have alot of replayablity.
Summary: I have read from other review sites that stated, "This is what Diablo 3 should have been." Really? This game IS Diablo 3 - re-skinned. That being said, if you have played Diablo 3, and liked it, this game isn't going to give you anything you have already gotten - except a pet. If you played Diablo 3 and DIDN'T like it, there is no point to trying this game, as it is the same game. The Good You get a pet.
