Good game but..

ulka18, Ebay

  • Summary: I was really happy to get the game because i like playing Tomb Raider but i usually played it on my playstation but this time i gave it a try on the pc. I was very suprised the game is boring not a lot of killing or any adventure not much to walk around and explore everything is straight forward. Wanted to return the game but it was too late because i already opened it.

Such a shame...

electricdonut@hotmail.com, Amazon
9 February 2011
  • Summary: After discovering Tomb Raider picking up a second hand copy of Legend, I was excited about this next episode in the series. As it is a remake of the original game, I figured it would be at least as good as Legend, but with slightly better graphics - and controls perhaps, knowing how these things are tweaked.

YAWN.

C. Watson, Amazon

  • Summary: I already wrote a review on another page. But in short, this game is long, slow and boring. It takes forever to progress through the game and the storyline is awful. Go buy TR Legend.

YAWN.

C. Watson, Amazon
23 April 2010
  • Summary: Ok i know that a lot of people would love this as its a recreation of the first TR, however, i thought it was tremendously boring. Every level takes forever to complete, and you spend loads of time in the same place (e.g peru) cause theres about 5 levels per location. The story line is hardly captivating theres hardly any diologue. They've tried to add in extra puzzles to make the old game more interesting, but more than half of them are far too over complicated.

nice graphics, but....

Gareth "Gareth", Amazon
19 December 2009
  • Summary: Frustrated, angry, irritated - if you like being these, this is the game for you. For the reasons that others have already mentioned - the stupid camera, not being able to save when you want to, feeling like you're running thru treacle, the non-intuitive controls. Crystal Dynamics could have simply stuck with the old game engine, designed some nice new levels, maybe with better graphics. That would have been satisfactory. Shame.

How to ruin a classic

Michael Larkin "Honest John", Amazon
19 December 2008
  • Summary: Imagine a very strange car. The steering wheel is about 6 inches diameter and hung on the door at the driver's side. The gear lever is above your head on the same side, the accelerator on the dashboard, and the brake works by blowing into a horn coming up from the floor. Oh, and there is no windscreen; you have to look through a periscope poking through the roof.

Rubbish

BigBadE, Play.com
3 May 2008
  • Conclusion: The task was simple ... re-make the original with todays graphics ... they FAILED! It should have been the original game played on the Legend engine, but it isn't, it is TR Legend based on the original game. The graphics are stunning, as is the sound, but the game is bugged to hell, took me 4 attempts to install it. If you want the the original game tarted up to look like Legend then you'll like it.

Lessons from Angel of darkness not learned.

  • Conclusion: Im surprised there are so many good reviews for this game. The annoying camera angles from Angel of darkness are still here. Control is poorEnemy AI is poor. Good graphics thats all.

Terrible Camera Angles

M. Nicholas "generalsoulfly", Amazon
5 November 2007
  • Summary: I don't usually write many reviews but this game annoyed me so much I thought I had to, I have played and completed every Tomb Raider game and we all know the first few were the best so it sounded great that we would get to go back to more puzzle based atmospheric locations that we all enjoyed so much. This is achieved in Peru especially and then Greece and Egypt but not so much in the Lost Island levels..
