Summary: While, I can't say much about the actual game itself being bad, I had few problems setting it up. For example, I had problems with serial code that is needed to activate the game (you have to enter it very carefully, one at a time to avoid making an error). It helped crashing on my PC, but I later found out it is my PC that had the problem, not the game. Works great now that I fixed it. The game itself is pretty fun.
Summary: I remembered "TimeShift" from it's brief run of commercials on TV about three years ago, so I guess in the long run advertising does work as I finally bought it last year. It's a fairly fun shooter that's longer than the current run of done-in-an-evening games, with some original ideas. The graphics are good but not great, and the AI/combat could have been better.
Summary: In TimeShift, you play as a nameless protagonist sent back in time to prevent a megalomaniacal scientist from altering the future and creating his own despotic world. The scientist, Dr. Aiden Krone, steals the Alpha version of an experimental time travelling suit in order to reach the past and create his future. Your character is given the Beta suit which is a military prototype to aid you in pursuing Dr. Krone. TimeShift's story isn't its strongpoint, the game play is.
Summary: I remember playing the demo for TimeShift a couple years ago on xbox 360 but I wasn't too thrilled about it. When I bought it from Amazon for only 9 bucks and for the PC, I was very impressed. The graphics quality was above average relative to the time it was released and looked amazing on my new PC. The time-shifting abilities plus the fast paced action made for an interesting experience.
Summary: I picked this game up for less than $10 -- a bargain. It was very entertaining. The graphics were good. AI was good. I have no complaints. You get the hang of using the time feature very quickly and definitely use it to your advantage. If there is one issue -- you can play nearly the entire game only using the Thunderbolt and time pause. The levels are fairly large and diverse. I highly recommend this game.
Summary: This is a first person shooter with time manipulation as the focus. You can SLOW, REVERSE, and STOP time. You have to use your timeshift abilities in order to progress through certain parts of the game, usually a simple puzzle here and there. This game was a challenge even on easiest mode. I died many times. And had to stop and think about how to use the timeshift ability to get past certain parts (reminded me of Portal).
Summary: I've played a lot of first-person shooters, and having played the old demo for this game, I wasn't expecting too much. I was wrong. It feels somewhat like Half-Life 2 in terms of pacing, but the lows aren't as low and the highs are higher. The weapons are fun and sufficiently different. If you make too much use of your time shifting powers you will likely find the combat too easy, so I tried to limit its use until I really needed it.
Summary: Fun in a box. This is one fun FPS - variety of beautiful environments, decent storyline, selection of weapons to suit the task. Runs well and stable on non-cutting edge hardware (P4 D, 3 GHz., 2 GB Ram, NVidia 7800GT) with medium-high settings. The only gripe I have is it was too bloody short and I was left yearning for more. I finished it in two sessions on elite difficulty. Don't expect an epic adventure, but worth the current purchase price.
Summary: Fun and straight forward FPS shooter. Looks great, even with high settings, vsync on and at decent display resolution (I think 1680x1050) on a Dell 24" WS LCD frame-rates never drop to unplayable, actually I don't think it ever dipped lower than 50 fps with lots going on. Visuals are very nice clean looking from what I can recall. Reminds me of DOOM 3 and F.E.A.R. (Sierra). Also plays, looks and feels like a combination of those two games.
Summary: Time Shift is one of those games that i can't wait for the next installment having only moderately enjoyed this installment. Let me explain with Graphics, storyline, gameplay, Performance and "Hook". Graphics The team creating Time shift has been dinged time and again for the blend between the old steampunk and newer graphics. I couldn't care less, they did a nice job on the graphics.
