Excerpt: You’ve probably already played TimeShift before, even if you don’t know what TimeShift is. TimeShift is every first-person shooter that you’ve ever played. The only difference is that in while you’re treading through familiar situations and scenarios, you have the ultimate control: the control over time.
Conclusion: THE VERDICT: The time powers are pretty pointless, the puzzles are broken owing to the fact they're solved for you, it plays like a five-year-old FPS and the multiplayer is obsolete already. But I don't hate you, TimeShift. And I don't know why. You're not worth my hard-earned (ho ho!) dollah, but I don't want to ignore you. Curse you brain, for thinking in this way.
Conclusion: With fair potential, all TimeShift has become is another generic FPS, with a mediocre setting, underwhelming gameplay and absolutely no story, let alone any character depth. Its features are barely enough to keep you occupied for a few hours until something better shows up.
Pros: Using time to overcome foes, fun multiplayer, the make-over worked for the most part;
Cons: Practically no story, repetitive gameplay, takes too many familiar gameplay elements from other shooters.
Excerpt: The first Dead Rising was a divisive game. Either you loved the time-based missions, unforgiving save system, and brutal difficulty which required multiple restarts as you leveled up Mr. Frank West, or you just hated everything about it. I am in the camp of loving the first game and I hold it in high regard as an important contribution to the gaming space.
