  • Summary: Plays as if it were made for iOS. More fluid than both the PS3 and PC versions. Funny, enjoyable, and emotionally compelling, in an odd sort of way. Excellent port of an excellent game.

  • Summary: I bought this game when it was on a flash sale for 99 cents, it was an awesome game it was challenging but not frustrating. I loved how they took this simple puzzler and made it so much more interesting by giving each small shape a name and personality as well as a British narrator to chronicle their journey. The only reason I gave it an 8 instead of a 10 is that I found it somewhat short for a 10$ game.

  • Summary: This is an amazing story driven platformer with well rounded (albeit 2-D) characters. If you're looking for an action packed game look elsewhere, but this game has heart. You somehow fall in love with these "characters" and when you finish you will want to play it again if only to see the characters again. If you are a fan of well done indie games with an interesting and captivating story, this is one for you.

  • Summary: A rather basic and simple 2D platformer that is made enjoyable thanks to it's fantastic characters and story. The game just has a way of pulling you into it's world thanks to the excellent atmosphere, charming narration, and humorous writing. It did not take me long to find out that the game was making me care for these characters. The presentation is minimalistic to a fault.

  • Summary: I'm not entirely sure why Thomas Was Alone has such a low user rating. Considering it's characters are essentially geometric shapes, the 'shapes' ooze character & charm. Much like it's characters the gameplay is simple yet effective but it's the writing that really sets it apart.

  • Summary: Its amazing how much character you could give blocks, I was absorbed in the simple puzzles combined with great narration. I recommend this to anyone bored with the norm in gaming and wants to try something truly unique.

  • Summary: This game tries way too hard to be this cutesy quirky minimalist thing, giving its blocks (read: spoon-fed by the pretentious British narration) forced cutesy quirky personalities while you solve really tedious block puzzles. You have to individually get ALL the blocks to their destinations, meaning you'll retread the same ground over and over. I do not understand why critics seem to universally adore it—I actively hate this game.

  • Summary: pretty unique and addicting game. the story was very sweet and charming at first, seeing the blocks who dont get along work together to get to a goal. the game is pretty simple, but it does have 100 levels, with some variety in each new level. gameplay got repititive as you kept playing, and I gradually lost interest in the storytelling, but it's a good game for what it is, I gotta say i agree with metacritic and the 78 score for this game.

  • Summary: a game that makes you care about characters that are nothing more than rectangles or squares. Thomas was alone provides a really unique and interesting experience. It is a puzzle platformer that requires some thinking and the use of numerous "abilities" that the shapes possess. There are a number of powers and it is a treat to use the shapes numerous sizes and jumping abilities to navigate through a series of levels.
