Pretty true to the books

Jonathan Appleseed, Amazon
17 October 2007
  • Summary: I was surprised to see that no reviews had been written for this game. When I played it - seven or eight years ago now? - I had hours of fun with it, especially when I found the cheat codes online. (I'm not a skilled gamesman by any definition, and need all the help I can get!

Cough Hack Gag***

B. Ryan, Amazon
19 January 2006
  • Summary: Ok, forget the game in style, play, and everything else. This is based on the WoT!!! and they made it an FPS!!! ????? This should have been made into a diablo style game at the minimum, and now that we have World of Warcraft, there is a much better comparison to what the game should have been based...

Something for everyone means less for each

Jim Luebke, Amazon
23 August 2000
  • Summary: The developers of this game figured they had a combination that couldn't miss: A game in the wildly popular First Person Shooter genre, with a tie-in to one of the best-selling series currently on the SciFi / Fantasy racks.

A follow-up to my earlier review

M. Mastin, Amazon
14 August 2000
  • Summary: While I enjoyed the game (and it is a good game) I have to downgrade the game because it became apparent to me that it was not finished. As I approached the end of the game bugs started to appear and there was a level which I could not save without crashing.

Not Jordan's "Wheel fo Time"

Kevin Wadsworth, Amazon
25 November 1999
  • Summary: While I have to agree that the graphics of the game are quite stunning, this world is not what I remember reading in the Wheel of Time series. Shooting people with "ter'angreal" that you pick up? Call it Hexen 3 or Quake - Medieval, but don't call it the Wheel of Time.

"The way back will come but once..."

polar_uk, Ciao
11 May 2004
  • Excerpt: Having read my way halfway through Robert Jordan's legendary Wheel of Time series, I came across this game on Amazon, and was surprised it even existed. I bought a copy used, and haven't regretted it.
  • Pros: IF you like the books, this is mostly faithful .
  • Cons: One plot aid restricts the game's link to the book series .

ho hum

Harry Graham Potter, Amazon
20 February 2003
  • Summary: The game was fairly tiresome most of the time. I suppose there were a few gripping moments, but the storyline was rather poor. The Magic system was good, and there were some cool moments like being able to levitate your enemies over your head and throw them off the tower wall.

A fun game, but lacking.

Amazon
9 November 2002
  • Summary: As a die-hard WOT fan, I was sorely dissapointed in this game. The graphics are great and the multiplayer is very fun and engrossing, but that's about it. The major faults were that the storyline, contrary to what many people claim, in no way ties into the plot in the books.

absorbing

lipgloss, Ciao
6 December 2000
  • Excerpt: You play “Elyana”, a member of a special sort of cult, that is sworn to defeat the Dark One’s army. There are hideous human-animal half breeds that you must destroy. The environment is 3D and very absorbing. It will let you escape the real world for a while.
  • Pros: very atmospheric
  • Cons: difficult to start with
