The Sum of All Fears

Game Over Online
28 January 2003
  • Excerpt: Because the Game Boy Advance is so far behind the curve when it comes to tactical first person shooters, the final product on Nintendo's handheld is very often a far cry from what you see on other platforms.

The Sum of All Fears

ActionTrip
5 June 2002
  • Conclusion: Bearing in mind that this game is more of a marketing stunt than a bona fide game project, TSoAF plays decently enough. I like the fact that it's a lot more action-oriented and that the controls are dumbed down, because you can just sit down, relax and play a mission or two.
  • Pros: Polished up Ghost Recon sounds and graphics; nice maps. Simplified controls system for action fans. Nice environmentally aware AI code;
  • Cons: The gameplay gets boring real fast without the tactical and RPG features from Ghost Recon. Not exactly the most challenging game I've ever played.

While it's clear that The Sum of All Fears was rushed for the movie's release, it's a surprisingly solid game.

GameSpot
3 June 2002
  • Summary: The Sum of All Fears motion picture is out, and so is the PC game, which uses the same graphics engine as Ghost Recon. And like Ghost Recon, Rogue Spear, and Red Storm's other shooters that bear the Tom Clancy name, it's a tactical shooter in which you undertake missions in modern-day, real-world...

Clancy takes aim at the newbies

Web Wombat
16 January 2003
  • Conclusion: However, at $AUS49.95 ($US29.99), it’s a relatively inexpensive solution for those looking for a tactical fix, without the added complexity/tech requirements of Ghost Recon. For newcomers, SOAF is recommended.

The Sum of All Fears review

allaboutgames.co.uk
5 September 2002
  • Conclusion: A pretty good film tie-in, that's a bit on the thin side, but allows for first person shooter gamers to get into tactical shooters before the full package, Rainbow Six: Raven Shield, arrives in Spring 2003.

The Sum of all Fears

GameOver
4 October 2002

The Sum of All Fears

Gamereactor

Tom Clancy's The Sum of All Fears

AG
15 June 2002

The Sum of all Fears

Looki.de
7 March 2002
  • Conclusion: Mit The Sum of all Fears kommt ein Spiel für zwischendurch.
