Summary: I still play Stronghold: Crusader. I played all the other games in this set, but that's the only one I still play. I didn't like the graphics on the others. I especially enjoy the relaxed version, where you can build your own little kingdom at your own pace, then introduce Arabian forces when you're ready to slaughter them for sheer entertainment value.
Summary: This game can be very frustrating. It is much easier to navigate around Age of Empires. This compass system really is a pain. Additionally, if I could get my hands on the guy who keeps telling me "people are leaving..." I would put him on the front line with no weapon! Also in Age of Empires you can put your army in segments and number the segment so when you need archers for example to relocate you click the number and where you want them and they move.
Summary: I found this collection quite nice. I've only actually played the first one at this point, mind you, but it plays quite nicely on Windows 8. The CD was delivered in a timely, safe package, and I definitely support buying the CD version, not the download option. This way, I can download the games on any computer I end up using.
Summary: If you like managing resources and build an army.. kind of like Age of Empire style/Warcraft without managing commoners The only complaint I would have is that new maps are pretty small for my taste...
