The game has an ESRB: T, OFLC: M and PEGI: 12+ rating.

Players have the option to select from dozens of personality traits and combine up to five traits to create a number of diverse individuals. Based on personality traits, skills and career choices, the Sims have short and long term Wishes that provide challenges to a player. Other than the Create-a-Sim function, players are also required to fine-tune their Sim’s personalities, build and buy mode, an “auto-roof” function that updates the roof of a Sim’s home when walls are built, a “wall drag” tool that allows users to grow or shrink a room, and a “slot” system that gives several choices on where to place decorative objects on surfaces. There are distinct shades of Horse Armour Syndrome here, but the key to whether this is a cynical cash-grab on the behalf of EA or a worthwhile method of rolling out new content into the game depends on whether the content available via the Store... A big complaint about the game is that the loading screens at no point mention “Reticulating bladders,” one of the signature phrases of the original game. It may sound trivial but this underscores one of the underlying issues with the current release. The developers have created a streamlined experience that makes use of recent technology to create a more believable world in which you can do pretty much everything you want when it comes to work, romance, house... The Sims 3 will probably not convince those that weren't convinced with the previous games. Those that like The Sims, however, will be all too happy with this new edition. The game plays better (thanks to the lack of loading screens), offers the necessary improvements and innovations, and stays with well-known formula. EA managed to fulfill the high expectations and can start working on countless expansions. As long as the cow is there, we'll drink the milk! Read more
There are two types of Sims players in the world: those who make and those who do. Players know which type they are immediately; it is evident by where they spend their time. Fortunately, this latest entry in the Sims universe has something for both types. A few minor annoyances notwithstanding, Sims 3 will please fans of the franchise and has the potential to attract a new group altogether. With Sims 3 , you can practically place a mirror next to your monitor and make... Read more
The Sims 3: Ambitions isn't an outwardly dramatic addition to the Sims universe, and technical problems could potentially get in the way of your fun. Yet this is a thoughtful and delightful expansion, full of wit and character, and it gives you even more control over your sims' daily lives. If you enjoy nurturing (or antagonizing) these unintelligible avatars that need to be told to empty their bladders, then adding Ambitions to your games library is a sure way to show... Read more
Great new game from The Sims line of games. I love the new 'neighborhood' that allows you to follow your Sims throughout the day. I have only played twice, but am really impressed by the graphics and level of detail. I can't wait to unlock surprises and to explore more of the 'hood. The only issue I have is with the online 'store.' EA is now charging for content by the item. Read more
While it is missing a lot of things, you can download a lot more things to make it much better of a game. Loading is much faster and graphics are better. Overall, The game is good, I would recommend buying it, only if you are interested (a.k.a have $50 to spend) or are a Sims fan. I happy that I bought it when it first came out! Read more
I really don't think there is all that much more I can add to the critical reviews that are already here. Yes, there are some new interactions and career aspects but for me they did not add all that much to what was pretty classic Sims gameplay. It was cool to experience something new with a Sims game but it turned cold when I realized just how many aspects were missing. Klepto Sims can do some funny things, Insane Sims have some funny social options. These are cool, but... Read more
I've been a fan of The Sims since the very beginning, i expected more on this game, but hey, just wait the expansions and it will get better. The graphics are ok, more detail with the expressions and bodies though. At least the performance is way better than The Sims 2. Read more
I know this is bever a game shines on graphics or music; but I still could not hlelp to say it. I guess this has never been my type of game. Read more
