  • Excerpt: The ultimate "people" simulator has arrived on the iPhone and iPod Touch with EA's The Sims 3 World Adventures . When I first heard that the Sims 3 World Adventures were about to be released on this format, let's just say that I was quite dubious. It would not work I thought to myself because you need a mouse to play. Even when they tried to port the game to lounge room consoles, it still didn't work. how can you play this game without a mouse? It's not possible! Boy...

  • Excerpt: There is little point reading this article unless you like the Sims. Its very much a marmite game, and those who love it either have a god complex or a lot of spare time. [NOTE: the author of this article falls into the latter category]. But, for those who like it: The Sims 3 redefined the platform it created solely with the free abilty to move, and create anything!

  • Conclusion: The Sims 3: World Adventures is a valiant effort at creating an expansion pack that does more than simply expand. This one-of-a-kind package is more accurately described as a sequel that leverages all of your prior progress and includes all existing content, all while simultaneously providing comparable (supplemental) experiences to previous Sims expansion packs—and that’s something that fans of the series are sure to appreciate.

  • Excerpt: Ever since The Sims 3 came out earlier this year, I have been hooked. The series has always been an addictive time-suck, but the additions and improvements made to the latest life simulator have kept me occupied far more than I would like to admit. Even if I put the game away for a few weeks or a month or two, I kept finding myself coming back, my head full of new ideas and unexplored possibilities—an awesome beach house that needed to be built, a young married couple...

The Sims 3 World Adventures - PC - Review

  • Excerpt: With an immense following and many years of success, The Sims has considerable renown in the genre of social simulation. Much of its popularity is owed to an excellent design, which is not only crafted with outstanding attention to detail, but also goes the extra mile to maintain a genuinely fun atmosphere. The ignorant bystander might find your average play session quite befuddling, and wonder about the strange language the characters seem to be babbling in.

What more could EA possibly do with a Sims 3 expansion that hasn't already been done in the numerous Sims 1 and 2 packs? Apparently, quite a bit.

  • Summary: Overall, World Adventures adds so much new content and gameplay that it feels more like a sequel than an expansion pack.
  • Pros: New gameplay mechanics while exploring tombs, hours of new story-based objectives, tonnes of new internationally themed items
  • Cons: Just when you thought you were out (of Sims 3) World Adventures pulls you back in, prepare to lose a lot of hours
