Summary: The Black Mirror is a decent horror point and click adventure game and is the first game in a series of three. This game nails horror, and by horror I don't mean jump scares. I mean creepy and unsettling environments and events that are occurring throughout this game. This game is my favorite in the series despite its few glaringly obvious flaws.
Summary: This game can be very annoying at times! if you dont do a certain action, It wont let you go to the next scene. The graphics are 800x600 which is very bad for today standard. If this game was released a few years ago, it would of been ok. The music and sound is well done. but the voice over is very weak. If you dont mind the technical issuses with the game, then its ok. But most people will find very boring.
Summary: One of the better "gothic mystery"-type games I've played; great graphics and a story that kept me interested throughout, although the ending left a lot to be explained. There was also a lengthy sequence in an abandoned mine which did not seem to have much to do with advancing the story. Regardless, an enjoyable game.
Summary: Purchased this game brand new in box. tried to load it on windows Vista but it would not load due to a problem with the anti-copy program on the disk. Checked on-line and found that other people had same problem. No support from Adventur Company or from the anti-copy company Starforce. On-line reccomendation was "the game is not worth the effort, just turf it". Fortunatley I have a lap-top with XP on it so I thought I would just run it on that. No such Luck!
Conclusion: The first thing I noticed about Black Mirror was the appalling voice acting. The second thing I noticed was - this doesn't matter a jot ! The music, sound effects, and the many sumptuous environments totally compensated for this. There are a great many scenes to explore here and they're stuffed full of fine details. Now to the one flaw that lets this otherwise brilliant game down : clueless puzzles.
Conclusion: Very good point&click adventure game with great story and atmosphere. I found the most riddles logical and not impossible to solve. If you liked games like Gabriel Knight 1 this is for you.
Summary: This is an older game which I bought as a jewel case a year ago. It was cheaper then but clearly they have "reissued" it. It is worth a look if you like games like "Still Life" or the Cameron Files. I was thoroughly entertained and enjoyed the mystery and the mystical elements. It has a few very annoying elements like not having a clue where to go sometimes or who to tlak to and you have to walk around the mansion way too much but overall I really enjoyed it.
