Tank Operations: European Campaign
The Gamers Temple

Excerpt: Tank Operations: European Campaign is a turn-based, hex-and-counter style wargame recreating 12 World War II battles across Western Europe. It is simple to learn, despite the lack of documentation, and easy to master once you learn the computer's tricks. Germany-based developer RokaPublish's catalog is mostly puzzle games along the lines of Candy Crush and Pet Rescue, and this appears to be their first attempt at a serious wargame.
Tank Operations: European Campaign Review – PC/Steam

Excerpt: I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with strategy games over the years. Top among those reasons is that I would rather be the one doing the action than the person sitting back doing the decision making. That and I don’t really have a serious tactical nerve in my body outside of some shooters and the occasional board game or two. Yet somehow I come out on top of strategy video games from time to time.
Conclusion: Perhaps the aforementioned issues with “missing” features will be addressed in future updates, but in its current form, Tank Operations: European Campaign is a robust, yet mediocre strategy title that fails to excel in any aspect whatsoever. As such, Tank Operations cannot be recommended over other modern strategy titles of varying scales, or even retro titles – such as the previously mentioned Panzer General series – which are easily available through the likes of Good...
Excerpt: Kalypso Media is making a name for themselves in the strategy game genre. Tank Operations European Campaign is one of their recent releases on Steam (meaning Personal Computer). This game lets you take the role of the Allies as they invade Europe to turn back the Nazi tide.
Conclusion: Tank Operations: European Campaign turned out to be a little difficult to get into, but once you ‘get it’, it gets you. It’s not fancy and it isn’t breaking any new grounds either, but it knows that and isn’t ashamed of it. All it needs to do is offer turn-by-turn strategic decisions that matter, and it does that very well indeed.
Excerpt: The title was created by Linked Dimensions and published by Kalypso Digital Media and I wish that both companies would have put some more time and resources into its development because it could have been an interesting update on the Panzer General formula. The basic concept is relatively simple to grasp: gamers become the head commander of the Allied force, built mostly from American and British forces, who are leading the invasion of Europe and Northern Africa as the...
Pros: + Some historical elements, + Interesting use of naval assets
Cons: - No innovation, - Uninformative user interface, - Poor presentation
Pros: realitätsnahe Handlung, hohe taktische Tiefe, Vielzahl an Einheiten
