Summary: Yeah it's only $9 but just so you know. I've been a fan of Monkey Island since the first game (it came on 5 floppies way back then) and have I played every one since. Until now. I downloaded the trial version of this to my MacBook running XP and was very disappointed. The biggest problem was very sloppy cursor control, I wasn't impressed by the graphics either but that's an opinion. The poor cursor control killed my interest in any further game play.
Summary: I wish I could say I played the game (my computer met the specs), but after taking an extraordinary amount of time to load the demo, the cursor was lagging so much that it took me five tries to hit the button to play the game. Again, another long wait to load, during which it locked up and Windows declared it not working. Even after that when I was trying to get out of it, each screen that came up asking if I wanted to buy the game etc., took a very long time.
Cant get the download to work properly and no support...

Summary: i downloaded this on my one year old 2.2ghz sony this christmas and on my husbands new hp. neither computer seemed to be able to get this program to work properly and there are no phone numbers to call for help or support. I would not download anything from amazon until you know it works on your computer. Nice idea but not really.
Summary: As noted by other reviewers, it is sloooooowwwwwww - slow to load, slow graphics, slow pointer, and the dialogue and characters' mouths are so out of sync that it's like watching a dubbed-over Japanese movie - but what's worse, I was only able to play the "intro" section: the software locked up immediately after the credits and I got the "Windows is searching for a solution to the problem..." box. No amount of playing with settings (game or operating system) helped.
Nothing is free, Amazon Downloader is invasive to computer.

Summary: I thought it was strange that I needed to install a downloader to get a 'free' game, so I created a restore point on my computer first. First thing I noticed is that the Amazon Downloader stays resident in your computer even when you reboot. I downloaded the 'Amazon Downloader' and then downloaded Cake Mania and Tales of Monkey Island using the Amazon Downloader.
