Jolly Rover (PC)

EL33TONLINE
6 July 2010
  • Excerpt: Point and click adventure games have been dead for ages. People only talk about them in hushed tones, often with a tear in their eye. Often you read articles about what killed them, and why they will never come back. What rubbish! It’s up to brilliant one man shows like Brawsome to show these fools just how great the genre is, and how much fun a little adventuring can be!

The Final Act

Game Debate
14 December 2009
  • Excerpt: There’s a shock ending to the penultimate episode of ‘Tales of Monkey Island’ that makes talking about the final episode almost impossible without including a galleon-load of spoilers. So there’s your warning – if you’re some kind of adventure game jessie who’s afraid of a few little plot reveals, look away now.
  • Pros: Uses its imagination, Makes you use yours
  • Cons: Trudgery drudgery, Timed scenes don't work

Tales of Monkey Island: Chapter 4 - The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood review (PC)

HonestGamers
17 November 2009
  • Excerpt: It’s rarely a chore to play through. The short length helps that, and the restrictive nature of the game world and its neatly intertwined objectives only contributes to the tightness. It raises plenty of smiles. But when it’s essentially becoming the same episode stuck on repeat ad nauseum, how much praise is it reasonable to lavish?

Tales of Monkey Island: The Trial and Execution of Guybrush Threepwood (PC)

EL33TONLINE
11 November 2009
  • Excerpt: There’s not a lot more to say about Tales of Monkey Island. It’s a truly excellent series of episodic adventures that follow the story of Guybrush Threepwood on his quest to rid the Pirate Isles of the Pox of LeChuck. This episode, while still inordinately clever and graced with the presence of Stan and his flamboyant and cleverly-rendered jacket, isn’t quite as fresh as the previous ones, but does set things up for a most intriguing finale.

Tales of Monkey Island: The Siege of Spinner Cay

Thunderbolt Games
3 September 2009
  • Excerpt: Telltale Games’ first stab at reigniting a Monkey Island series that had long since waved goodbye to better days was – to a lot of people’s surprise – a near unanimous success. Launch of the Screaming Narwhal had maintained all the core essentials that fans have been reminiscing fervently about for years but at the same time, Telltale Games seemed to understand that it probably wouldn’t ever top the original three titles and at no point attempted to, but looked more to...

Tales of Monkey Island
