Summary: Don't buy this game. The creator took the servers offline on February 28th, 2009. Evidently the game was not making money so they took the servers down. Since this is a multi-player online game the servers are needed for game play. There is no way to play it offline as I could determine either.
A very fresh breah in a dismal sea of overdone fantasy
3 December 2008
Summary: My only regret with this game is that I didn't try it sooner. I have played everything from Ultima Online to WoW to recent releases like Age of Conan & Warhammer and this is hands down the most fun I've had with an MMO in a very long time. The story line is interesting and immersive. The quests don't feel like your run- of-the-mill kill/gather quests like other games. The action is intense & constant. This FEELS like a war.
Summary: While this game (for me) is terrific and a heap of fun (one of the best sci-fi themed MMO FPS I've tried), Tabula Rasa is being officially taken offline by NCSoft in February 2009. Sad to have purchased it and then get told a few weeks later that it's going to be going away, but I've definitely exceeded my money's worth with it in enjoyment.
Great game! Community is somewhat lacking though...
8 June 2008
Summary: The game itself is great, very well done in my opinion, and very enjoyable! The one thing I find lacking is the community. There are a few people who are very nice and helpful, but not enough people out there to group with... Clans are underdeveloped too. I hope these things will improve in the future, but in the meantime, I'm playing it sort of like a single player game with limited multiplayer aspects and still enjoying it greatly!
Summary: This game was a huge surprise, I was expecting an ok game, but wow, this is a very kewl concept. Still young in online time, this game has bugs to work out but conceptually this is a great game. Essentially you have had to flee earth cause aliens have invaded, and unfortunatley alot of people dont make it, mean while other aliens are trying to save our sorry buts by giving us suped up techno weapons and other advanced gadgets.
Summary: I had my doubts about this game but I was pleasantly surprised. This game mixes third person shooter elements with an mmo quality. A fun feature of Tabula Rasa is base defense and control points. Randomly enemy NPCs will attack a control point and the players have to defend it or it goes under enemy control. If a control point falls to the enemy Even though, this game is based on realtime combat it lacks open pvp.
Summary: First and foremost READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. The is a very complex and in depth game, As far as your computer goes don't scrimp on the recommended hardware requirments I would not even try this game, with anything less than a dual core with a minimum of 2 gig of memory. I am running 1 gig and it is very choppy when I am done with this review I am buying 2 gig of memory.
