Syndicate review

PCGamer Online
22 March 2012
  • Excerpt: Somewhere between the roomfuls of civilians cowering from his indiscriminate firstperson weapons fire, and his best work pal putting bullets into the skulls of an entire train’s worth of helpless innocents, you’d think Syndicate enforcer Miles Kilo would have worked out that his employers Eurocorp...

Syndicate

Cheat Happens
15 March 2012
  • Excerpt: In a way, you've got to feel sorry for Starbreeze Studios. With Syndicate , the shooter-centric re-imagining of the 1993 strategy game of the same name -- there's absolutely no way to please everyone.

  • Conclusion: That all sounds deliciously gory, though in practice, you're not focused on the splattering of brains: you've already moved on to your next target. Some of those targets may require breaching, which is to say, hacking your target's chip.
  • Pros: Fantastic, nail-biting cooperative play, Aggressive AI keeps the pressure on, Online progression system gives you reasons to return, Smooth animations and dazzling visuals, Gunplay and hacking lead to thrills.
  • Cons: Weak storytelling wastes the cool setting, Mediocre, poorly-paced campaign, Ridiculously oversaturated lighting effects impede gameplay.

Pizza Syndicate

  • Excerpt: We all long for unique and innovative games, which unfortunately, but logically are very difficult to come by. Building your own pizza empire would seems to fit this innovative game type, however for some strange reason, Pizza Syndicate is not the first game with the premise of building your own...

  • Summary: Competent sci-fi FPS that borrows from the leaders of the genre. Single player misses but the co-op has some interesting qualities.

Syndicate

Tech2
3 March 2012
  • Excerpt: At first glance, Syndicate looks a lot like Deus Ex: Human Revolution. As you play through the game however, it becomes evident that the similarity exists only in the representation of an oppressive, bleak future for humanity and of course, cheap boss fights.

Syndicate review

Gameplanet
16 December 2010
  • Excerpt: Starbreeze's reboot of Syndicate as a first-person shooter is fairly predictable, but its co-operative mode is a skyscraper on an otherwise flat horizon.
  • Pros: Looks, sounds, and feels great. Nice mix of weapons, powers, and upgrades. Excellent if unstable co-op mode.
  • Cons: Singleplayer experience is too guided.
