Summary: We purchased this game at what seemed a good price, but it didn't work on Vista at initial installation. However, a note came up saying, "Uninstall and reinstall" which we did, and now it works!
Summary: I enjoyed playing this game as teen. Game revolves around you defending your castles against besiegers but also managing your castle's economy. As the game progress you begin to besiege castles as well. Once you beat the military campaign there are few economic missions revolving around rebuilding the kingdom. The game also features a few scenarios involving either military or economic goals.
Summary: Got a demo off the net... and it was, hence the name, DA BOMB! Off the hizzy! te he even for a demo, with 2 levels, 4 difficulty settings, and a tutorial. Graphics r great. and the gameplay is excellent. RTS or city builder fan? u will love it.
Summary: Stronghold is complicated but you will figure it out. It's good if you can read well. The graphics are okay and they are similar to the Baulders Gate game if you have ever seen it. Stronghold is more of a strategy game. It's worth every penny because I find myself wanting to go back and play it for hours. This is a fun game!
Summary: this game is filled with action. you lay seige to youre foes while defending youre own keep. it not just for the war types either you can also play economic missions and simply deal with the problem of youre people being happy. all in all this is and cool game for the young mind.
Summary: Unlike other medieval warfare games where castles may be just one of the many buildings available, or you may have many forts and cities, stronghold is truly a "castle sim" You must build just one castle in each mission, but you better make it good! In the campaign stage, you will start by building log forts and just archers and rustic spearmen in your army.
Summary: This game has some of the best graphics on a strategy game I've played. I really liked the fact that you can zoom in on your screen. This makes placement of castle walls, etc. much easier. The 'free build' games are fun, as there is no enemy trying to destroy you. The only limiting factors are you and your resources. I've played this for hours on end. The seige based games are fun as well, but difficult. It seems I'm never quite finished building when the enemy attacks.
Summary: If managing the day to day activities of gathering food and resources, ensuring the inns stay full of ale and drunkeds, building great castles and digging moats, all the while fending off bandits and enemy troops is up your street, you should consider moving into stronghold avenue! Stronghold gives an insight into castle life in the middle ages during a period of civil war.
Pros: Easy to play, great medieval music, lots of replayability and easy to use castle builder.
Excerpt: "Stronghold was probably the first PC game that I got addicted to. The game may not appeal to everyone out there but I personally found the game amazing and was a great game to be apart of. The game itself as a medieval war based game in which the storyline is based upon the king being captured, and dukes taking over England. The dukes have dominated the land and killed your father in the process as he was fighting them in the honour of the king. ...
Pros: One of the best Castle - sim games ever created !
