Summary: We purchased this game at what seemed a good price, but it didn't work on Vista at initial installation. However, a note came up saying, "Uninstall and reinstall" which we did, and now it works!
Summary: I love Stronghold. Stronghold is fun, but Stronghold Crusader is my favorite. Building is fun. You get better buildings than Stronghold Crusader. But you get better guys and more enemies and allies.
Excerpt: Stronghold is a brilliantly designed game with far more to it than what is implied. The main idea is to build up a castle to defend against invading armies, or conquer a castle with your own armies.
Excerpt: Stronghold presents you with the opportunity to become Lord and master of your own little world. The game is set within the middle ages. There are a number of different game play options. Strategic missions, Economic missions, single games, free build mode, etc.
Excerpt: I bought this game as soon as it came out on take advantage. What a game it was. First day I had it I dived into the military campaign. (After the somewhat slow tutorial, but they have to look after those new to the genre.) I remember that the first few levels involved fighting off wolves.
Pros: Pretty castles, well balenced troops, solid map design
Excerpt: Stronghold involves lots of destrcution and chaos caused by your warriors of combat. These range from archers to battering rams and all are good at their seperate thing. Some killing, some making, some smashing walls down and some just don't do anything really !
Pros: Amazing attention to detail in graphics and sound aswell as gameplay - all round superb game
Cons: stalls as it takes up vast memory and multiplayer must be through gamespy arcade
