Summary: Gave this one star because I could not play it. Caveat Emptor! This game contains Star force Protection, which when loaded on to your computer may create havoc, particularly if you are running Windows 7. It is difficult and lengthy to remove this program and downloading the recommended patch is to of no avail. I believe the other reviews about the gameplay, unfortunately I cannot concur or offer my own review.
Summary: It might work reasonably well as an interactive movie/story (there is no real decision-making or choices in the game), but in that case, the developers should have made the game move along a LOT faster. Such as interruptible cutscenes, faster transitions between locations (extra click to skip transition completely), etc.
Summary: I was very excited to receive this game after playing it a ton during my childhood. Unfortunately, older computer games will not run on Windows 7, even in compatibility mode. If you don't have windows XP, 2000 or 98 don't buy it. It installed fine, then when opening gave me an error message.
Summary: Still Life is a cool adventure game with great atmosphere and exciting story. Unfortunately, it also drags quite a bit since e.g. you cannot jump to certain points, you always have to walk to your car or take the elevator and have to endure the scenes over and over again without being able to skip it. Also, the background is too still for my taste, nothing really moves and there's not much to look at despite of things you need to do or handle.
Summary: Still Life comes off as an eye spy detective game with several puzzle elements thrown into the mix. The 800x600 maximum resolution is disappointing. A game of this caliber with a 2005 release date on a PC platform deserves higher end graphical support. Character development is genuine providing a sense of realism, but there is a lack of involvement on the players part to really control Still Life comes off as an eye spy detective game with several puzzle elements thrown...
Summary: Thanks to the folks at adventuregamers.com forum, I learned that it wasn't just my computer freezing up with the "protection system" (Starforce) that installs along with Still Life. It is no good for Windows later than 2000. There are lots of little tweaks they suggested, but the thing that got this game to work on my PC with Vista Home Premium was downloading an unofficial Still Life game patch for Vista from gamefront.
Summary: I loved this game. I thought it combined the best of the adventure genre with a stellar plot , the dual story game play amuses me and keeps things from getting boring. i like the graphics and the voice acting puzzles are kooky and fun and the settings and characters make for an interesting game. the only thing that stops me giving it a 10 is the ending , who is the killer. i know because i I loved this game.
