Not even close

Zack M., Newegg

  • Summary: Not enough bang for your buck...stay away. If you want a good RTS, go for Dawn of War or Homeworld for a great space RTS.
  • Pros: Star Wars!!! I love SW movies and games even though most of them aren't really good. This is set in the Star Wars universe and....umm....thats all there is to say thats good.
  • Cons: Whats goin on with Lucas-arts?!?!?! This game is truly awful. The graphics are stale and not good especially when compared to other RTS's like DOW or Rome:Total War...Even compared to Generals which came out in 2002(i think) it's pretty bad. The units are stiff and there simply aren't a lot of th...

Falls short of all the publicity

  • Summary: I am still waiting for a actual Star Wars game that will actually earn the Star Wars Title in it. Like I said this game could've been so much more, but Lucas Arts ruins another great idea and creation by rushing Star Wars title to the market for children to buy.
  • Pros: There are some pros to this game not many. First off great idea mixing in space battles and land battles. Ok story line. Help me out I am trying to find more pros. I think people braged the game too much and when I tried it I was disapointed. (Maybe that should've been in the cons). Graphics are ...
  • Cons: Now the long list of cons. Where do I start... lets start with they had a good idea and just didn't make it happen. First off I think Lucas Arts just rushes stuff out there, just because it's Star Wars and who doesn't love Star Wars. That explains most of the game it was basically rushed into cre...

Fun but its missing something

Richard H. Beatie, Amazon

  • Summary: The concept and gameplay is great in my opinion, but they took too many short cuts on the sound and graphics. Multiplayer is annoying if you use a router or have a firewall because it disconnects a lot. Nice game but it could have been ALOT better.

Gets boring, fast.

  • Summary: Although this game is great to begin with, it does tend to get very boring so I found myself incapable of playing this game for longer than 1 and a half hours.

Promising start but...

  • Summary: The game in itself is probably the best Star Wars RTS but by far not the best RTS. Although it has some nice features (like the galaxy screen in which you control planets, unit contstruction etc) it also has some major drawbacks. My main complaint about EAW is that the game is too repetitive.

  • Summary: when i bought this game i imagined it would be a challenging and enjoyable strategy game. How stupid was i. On playing the game idiscovered the Graphics to be un-exiting, the game ply to have as little to with strategy and more to do with who ever has the most guys and the new "galactic conquest"...

Empire at War - a let down

Emerica, Amazon
19 August 2005
  • Summary: I bought this the day it came out with the hope it would be a combination of the groundwork laid down in games like Star Wars Supremacy and Force Commander, Masters of Orion, Dawn of War, Command and Conquer etc. It’s not as good as any of these, and most of them came out over 5 years ago!

Another missed oppertunity

Amazon Customer, Amazon
19 August 2005
  • Summary: The wait goes on, another average Star Was game, more disappointment, Just seems like a mix of Supremacy and Force Commander,I'm starting to wonder if we'll ever see a Star Wars game worthy of the licence.

D+ it could have been a lot better!

C. Greaves, Amazon
19 August 2005
  • Summary: Loath as I am to criticise anything star wars related, I would not advise buying this game. The story is poor pushing on towards non-existant (finished the rebel missions which were just a re-hash of the original star wars film, thats not including empire strikes back or return of the jedi!

not good enough by far

Amazon
19 August 2005
  • Summary: Where do i start...in summary, this game should be greater than the sum of it's good, if not great predecessors - Supremacy, Age of Empires, Homeworld 2 - benefiting from the best aspects of these games rolled into one great package.
