Summary: This is a fun game and allows you to command both land and space forces. It's more of a strategy game where you direct units. I enjoyed the ability to play battles at the head of Star Wars fleets.
Summary: There's a bit of a learning curve, because there really isn't a game quite like it. I'd buy it if you enjoy strategy games, even if it is a bit old. The gameplay far outweighs the graphics, and those still look pretty good.
Pros: Great game - both land and space strategy. Wonderful use of the Star Wars Franchise. Unique and brilliant, bringing a lot of change and concepts to the Strategy genre.
Cons: ... for some reason I am not able to play the Forces of Corruption expansion. There are several threads on the developer's forums with people in the same boat. I recommend you get your Star Wars fix elsewhere.
Summary: A little short-sightedness is forgivable when the programmers were building this game in a world where 64-bit computing was still unrealistic -yeah, it's that old- and the blend of performance, gameplay, and modability (for lack of a better term) make the game worthwhile.
Pros: Great game with a fun storyline and unprecedented mod community. Considering the actual age of EAW and FOC, graphics are good and gameplay is a lot of fun.
Cons: Vista 64 users with 4gb or more RAM must manually limit memory in msconfig to play Forces of Corruption. Lucasarts says they're looking at fixing this, but don't bet the farm on it happening. Gets kind of frustrating having to reboot to play a game.
Summary: I am running Vista x64 and it runs nice and stable. I guess for once the "Games for Windows" initia works. Be wary of Ewoks. Now, if only Petroglyph would do a G.I. Joe RTS... hmm... are you reading this Hasbro?
Pros: Lucas Arts tried a few other times to make a Star Wars RTS game, but this is the first one that was done right. The space battles are exciting, the ground battles are tense, conquering the galaxy (or saving it) is constant struggle against your enemies, the hero units are helpful, the graphics ar...
Cons: Some of the voices sound off (not the original actors) and some of the unit dialogue is lame. The ground battles, while fun (especially with AT-ATs), can easily turn boring once you defeat the first wave of enemies. I wish I had bought this sooner.
Summary: Really love this game. Best Star Wars game I've played to date. Good after market updates, mods, and maps.
Pros: If you've bought all the Star Wars games like I have, you'll find that this is by far the best one so far. This game is very similar to Star Wars Rebellion that came out a while ago, but much better. By far the best part of this game is the space battles, WOW! They look so cool, and have realisti...
Cons: Land battles are lame. Some aspects of the game are kinda silly, like "heroes" can come back to life after a while, and star destroyers replenish tie fighters during battles. Has a few issues with Vista 64 bit, but still works fine for the most part.
