Fun, Non-stop Action, But Waited Too Long as Online Servers Are Gone

JH "hobbs_tx", Amazon

  • Summary: I played this game after playing which comes with (BF1942), it's two Battlefield 1942 expansions, and and . If you like BF1942, you will also like this game and vice versa. However there are some differences good and bad. Unfortunately, there are no longer any dedicated servers still up, so I was unable to play multiplayer. Seems like the Star Wars Battlefront (SWB) servers went down in November 2012 based on IGN forum. Hopefully the servers are still active.

Good game, but it has flaws.

Daniel S., Amazon

  • Summary: Let me establish this right off - I'm not a Star Wars fanboy. That said, I do like this game, but I'm willing to accept its flaws. The game follows the movies over two campaigns, showing battles from episodes I, II, IV, V, and VI (Episode III wasn't released at the time), as well as a few battles that were cut from the movies but not the Star Wars mythos (I had to look that up).

Great for the kids

  • Summary: Not bloody which is a big one for me. Same first person shoot em up action you would expect but set in the Star Wars universe. The kids love it.

On the front lines with the Galaxies Finest Figthing men, women, Clones, Wookies, and robots.

Allen Berry "Emerald Archer", Amazon

  • Summary: Star Wars Battlefront allows you to experience the Star Wars Universe from an entirely different perspective. You've perhaps fought as a Jedi, or a Fighter Pilot, but Battlefront takes you to the trenches of the galactic struggle of the Republic vs. the Empire or the Rebellion vs. the Empire on all sides of the conflict. In the Clone Wars, you can fight as a member of the Clone army as a foot soldier, marksman, artillery trooper or commando.

Still holds up

Pastor Steve, Amazon

  • Summary: I go back and forth between Battlefront and Battlefront II because, although the controls are improved on II, there are several maps on the original that I love. So for me, this game still holds up.

The Force is with this one.....Always

Spendsters, Amazon

  • Summary: Star Wars Battlefront is an incredible FPS set in the Star Wars universe. You can control a character on either side of the spectrum; be a clone trooper for the republic or a super battle droid for the empire. Some of the locales are stunning, namely places such as Kashyyk (home of the Wookies), and Geonosis.

This is an extremely fun game, but bypass it for Battlefront II

  • Summary: If you've read the other reviews, you'll already have a firm understanding of BF's glories and weaknesses. To recap them: the graphics are stellar, the controls are well-arranged and easily learned, the AI is decent but by no means invincible, the single player mode is rather disconnected, your character and vehicular options are many, and in the end, you will surely end up complementing yourself for purchasing such an enjoyable game.

Not quite Jedi level, but pretty fun

D. Roberts "Hadrian12", Amazon
27 March 2005
  • Summary: If you want a role playing game in the STAR WARS environment, this game may well be worth checking out. You get to be one of several classes of warriors playing on multiple maps spread out across the STAR WARS galaxy. Most all the familiar SW planets are represented here, including Tatooine, Hoth, Naboo, Rhen Var and others. One of the surprising things about the game is that you can even choose which side you fight on. Want to be a stormtrooper? No problem.
