Excerpt: Star Wars Battlefront is a flawed game. There, I said it. There’s no denying it. So why then am I compelled to keep playing it? Well, where else you can live out the greatest battles of the Star Wars universe on the front lines? It’s just unfortunate the developers didn’t have more time to polish this game off because while the hook is money, the delivery is a little lacklustre. Star Wars Battlefront is a large-scale shooter akin to Battlefield 1942.
Summary: A Star Wars game that is fun to play?
Believe it or not, it is a possibility thanks to LucasArts and Pandemic. Star
Wars Battlefront brings the action filled sequences of the various George Lucas
films to PC gaming systems everywhere, allowing gamers to participate in the
famous fictional battles firsthand.
Conclusion: Some of you may sneer at the game's noticeable resemblance to Battlefield 1942. It's true that SW: Battlefront derives from the basic BF 1942 gameplay mechanics... but what multiplayer shooter (with drivable vehicles) doesn't nowadays? Whatever you may think, the fact of the matter is that this game is encapsulated in a universe which opens up plenty of opportunities for combat with its vast range of races, characters, weapons, land and air vehicles, and so on.
Conclusion: The Verdict All in all, a very satisfying foray into the Star Wars universe. While not quite as much of a milestone as Battlefield Vietnam, SWBF stands on its own as a solid Battlefield Simulation. Oh yeah, and you had better like that classic Star Wars sound of lazers...
Star Wars: Battlefront 2 »
в крылатого конкурента серии Battlefield .
Увы, судьба и специалисты по
маркетингу распорядились иначе. P.S.
Conclusion: Summing it up, Battlefront 2 is better than its predecessor, but unfortunately, it doesn’t pack enough novelties to really make you to want more, unless you’re a Star Wars fan. True, the space battles are fun and intense and the idea of playing Darth Vader has a certain appeal to it, but only to a point. From there on, Battlefield 2 leads the way.
