Summary: Excellent plot and acting, though it's a shame they couldn't get Jeri Ryan. As far as I know, the Elite Force series is the only Trek incarnation as an FPS. Fortunately, they nkocked it out of the park with this one. It's wonderful getting to explore Voyager and be a part of their journey for a brief period. Yes, compared to today's high def graphics it looks ancient, but it still plays competently.
Summary: This is NOT a First Person Shooter and bears little resemblance to the original game. For the die-hard trekkie it will provide significant entertainment allowing them to explore the ship in great detail going into cabins and exploring levels. For everyone else stay away it isn't worth the money unless you are a die hard Star Trek fan.
Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force 2 (PC): A good game, an improvement on its predecessor
13 April 2010
Summary: Building off of the original Elite Force, i think the development team had a good start to this game. It had much improved graphics over the original, not to mention more weapons. The maps are more complex in this game, more like other FPS', however there are fewer of them, only about 10-15 i think, far less than the original game, especially if you have the expansion pack for the old Elite Force. Maps are available for download on certain game modification sites.
Pros: Good graphics, better map design, good multiplayer fun
Star Trek Voyager - Elite Force (PC): A good FPS, but not spectacular
13 April 2010
Summary: Well there are tonnes of Star Trek games out there, usually point and click adventures or strategy games. But even with Star Trek games being released several times a year, Elite Force, made in 2000, was only the 2nd Star Trek FPS game. ST:VOY:EF is based on the Quake engine, Quake III specifically, thus it does allow for a certain amount of modification, if you can get your head around it.
Pros: A good game for a star trek game, most are cheap rip offs, fun on multiplayer, good missions
Cons: Not a great variety of weapons, the AI can be a little dumb.
