More action than brains spoils replayability of this game

Rottenberg's rotten book review, Amazon
16 March 2014
  • Summary: YOU KNOW WHAT IT'S ABOUT "Elite Force 2" follows the adventures of Lt. Munro, leader of the Hazard team, Starfleet's special commando team "Elite Force". (Unlike the first EF game, you play Munroe only as a guy.) While the story opens with Munroe infiltrating a Borg super-ship (encountered in the Voyager finale "Endgame"), the plot of Voyager covers a different story entirely. Back in Alpha Quadrant, Munro leads a new Hazard Team.

It's no Elite Force 1

Peter Drake, Amazon
12 November 2010
  • Summary: The gameplay is nice, the graphics are pretty nice, but the game overall is just OK. About the gameplay, I'm glad that you actually have a tricorder and use it for different things. Actually, it's integral to use the tricorder if you want to beat the game, because you use it to find walls that you can shoot through, poison gas vents you have to seal, and bioscanners you have to avoid. The weapons aren't all that great, they seem to be overdone.

EF2 only half as good as EF1

Gregory Bartz "Gregorius", Amazon
30 September 2003
  • Summary: This is going to just be a comparison between Elite Force 1 and 2. EF1: Lots of varied architecture, including Borg, Etherian, Klingon, etc., with no repeats. Many of these architectures are really gorgeous. This applies to both single-player and multi-player maps. EF2: Nearly every map uses the same ugly brown industrial style. This applies to both single-player and multi-player maps.

Good, but 'elite'?

DARK PHOENIX, Amazon
14 July 2003
  • Summary: This game's graphics and story line are much improved on the first entry, ST: Elite Force. It also adds some puzzle-solving tasks, which is a nice way to break up the action. If you liked the first game you are likely to enjoy this sequel, but don't expect anything new to the FPS genre. Some issues: The single-player game doesn't take long to complete - a day or so, if you're putting in solid hours. This may not be much of a concern if you plan to play multi-player.

Set Phasers to Stun

RC, Amazon
21 November 2004
  • Summary: All in all this was a decent game. The atmosphere was good, and the graphics were much improved from the original Elite Force. The weapons and sounds were authentic to the series as well. So what, you may ask, is the reason I only gave it a 3? This is because it has poor replay value. I beat it in about 3 days and I don't really feel like going through again. Good game though, I liked it. If you're a Star Trek fan its a good game to check out.

Mildly Entertaining - Mindnumbing redundancy

Brian Brackeen "_code_poet_", Amazon
14 January 2004
  • Summary: This was a disappointing follow up to the previous release. I was interested in the Star Trek world and really excited when I found out this took place on the Enterprise. However, that excitement slowly faded to bland interest. Let me give you the lowdown on how this game works. 1) Start New Mission 2) Get separated from rest of away team 3) Open door / climb stairs / take elevator 4) Blast everything in sight 5) Find another door 6) Goto step 4, until your tired of...
