Summary: The idea is good, but execution is a little lacking. Plan on getting killed a lot; you pretty much have to play and keep trying different things to get through each level. The graphics are not the best, only passable and the plot keeps you guessing to the surprise ending.
Summary: This game is just average. It has a lot of techinical problems which distracts from playing the game. There is video garbage flashing on the screen while playing, making it hard to recognize the guys shooting at you and their location. This game will not play on Vista, but seams ok on XP. The fire fights are not bad, but the AI is just average. I would give it about 60 out of a 100 score.
Summary: I played the original game and was astounded by the gruesome effects such as blowing off someone's arm, leg or even head! It was awesome in the 90's. But with this new installment, the graphics seem a bit outdated and it's pretty linear. I agree that it is definately overpriced. It needs to give you a prebrief of each mission before you go in so you can select the proper weapons for that mission.
Summary: The original SOF was a surprise sleeper-hit, developed by RAVEN, who also designed the SOF2: DOUBLE HELIX. They both were EXCELLENT FPS games!! Unfortunately (as it turned out) the RAVEN group had nothing to do with this release. It was developed by CAULDRON who, I guess eager to please, overshot its mark. Now, I enjoy a good blood-bath as the next guy - and the SOF series had always been gory and graphic. Who can forget the...crotch-shots reaction in the original SOF!
Summary: Soldier of fortune is a good fps with a story driven single player gameplay and a great multiplayer gameplay. You play John Mullis a soldier and he sounds like micheal douglas. The story a gang war has taken place in the new york subway and the cops have been beaten, Though it is not a military operation the captain let you (john) and your patner handle the situation, The leader gets away and you find out that something much bigger than the gang war has happened.
Summary: When you've had one of THOSE days, and you just want soem first-person shooter action, this is certainly worth a try. Yes, this game is violent, if you choose to play it that way, but you can install it with the violence "blocked", although I did not do that so i can't say what it will look like. I liked the way the story was woven into the shooting action, I thought the developers handled the story and the character development well. I was kept interested anyway.
Summary: This game is good because it's powered by the QUAKE3 ARENA ENGINE!!that's all that's good about it.It's so violent, theres the most mature rating content I've seen in a fps. it's so gorey, so bloody, so voilent, so much suggestive themes, I only played it for 10 minutes then uninstalled it off my computer, tried it 3 more times, felt the SAME WAY!
Summary: I enjoyed this game very much, the plot and storyline were excellent, but the game was rendered on the outdated Quake II engine, so the graphics while better than Quake II itself, were mediocre at best. The game focused too much on blowing people apart and not on the quality of the graphics to enhance the storyline. Also the gunfire and resulting injuries or kills were very unrealistic as to what they would be in real life.
Summary: I have just been playing the demo of SOF and I must say that I am a bit dissapointed. The graphics date back almost to the old Duke Nukem 3d game style graphics, not anywhere close to current standards. The weapon fire is the most unrealistic I have ever seen in a FPC. The storyline is good and the playability is good, but it could have been so much better if the graphics were worth a flip, but they're not, but it is a fun game nonetheless, and for the cheap price it's...
