Excerpt: Some questions popped into my head after spending about 15 minutes playing Soldier of Fortune: Payback . They were, in no particular order: * Is it possible for a human being to die in that position? * Can I ever run out of ammo? * Is it morally reprehensible to laugh at a fleeing enemy after I’ve shot their arms off and they’re screaming?
Conclusion: Do yourself a favor and let this one pass. There are so many other shooters on the market that are worth your while - Crysis, Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Halo 3, BioShock, The Orange Box, Medal of Honor: Airborne, Call of Duty 4, Gears of War (PC)... take your pick.
Pros: Occasionally fun, easy to get into, solid variety of locations, excessive gore can be entertaining;
Cons: Technical issues, short single-player, nobody likes AI that cheats, generally mundane FPS experience.
