Soldier of Fortune 2 (PC): The carnage continues....
9 October 2011
Summary: Soldier of Fortune 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, which sees you play as gun-toting, NRA-loving, US Republican hero extrodinaire John Mullins, this time with a convoluted plot converning a super-virus that basically boils down to lots of dull dialoge and lots more machine-guning America's enemies into oblivion.
Pros: ultra-violent, good visuals, varied levels, lots of weapons
Cons: dull dialogue, feels rough around the edges in places
Summary: The first Soldier of Fortune game was such a controversial outing, largely due to its obscene, realistic gore effects that allowed you to dismember enemies with a vast array of weapons. It was hugely entertaining, if not exactly family friendly or having much longevity. It was only inevitable that a sequel would come out given the first game's success and furore, and it is yet another wonderfully messy odyssey into gangs and espionage.
Soldier of Fortune 2 (PC): Like the cross eyed sniper, can't quite hit the target.

Summary: I've been a fan of Soldier of fortune for quite a long time, and on hearing about Raven's second outing into this title, I had looked forward to Double Helix for a good year before I finally managed to pick it up. Now before I start the review itself, I will say that my system is a low spec system for gaming.
Summary: The first Soldier of Fortune game was met with mixed opinions by critics and game players alike. The ultra-violent style of the game earned it an 18 certificate and some calls for it to be withdrawn altogether. However, this didn't happen and a huge number of people bought the game, and enjoyed it.
Summary: Soldier of Fortune 2: Double Helix (SoF2) is a sequel to the Raven's "ultra-bloody" first-person shooter. While Soldier Of Fortune was a controversial hit due to its addicting gameplay and its massive amounts of blood, violence and explicit gore, SoF2 takes it to the next level. The plot is not most important part of this game, but you reprise the role of John Mullins: Weapons Specialist, Anti-Terrorist Mercenary, and "Military Consultant.
Pros: Excellent Graphics, You can blow individual body parts from the body :), Amazing atmospheric sounds and good death animations
Cons: Mediocre Single Player, Flimsy Storyline, Stealth missions
Summary: I was influenced to buy Soldier of Fortune II: Double Helix by a friend about a week before it came out. I had never played the original and so didn't know what to expect. In my mind I thought it would be a really addictive, enthralling experience that was accessible and exciting. How disappointed I was when the package came through the door on the day of release. I went through the training level and everything was going great until I got to the stealth bit.
Pros: Great Graphics, Excellent Sound Effects and Music
Cons: Very, very, very, very difficult, Control is too demanding, Other disadvantages result in it not being at all addictive
Summary: Here it is then gamers... The sequel to what must be one of the most contraversial PC games released in the last couple of years. I suppose that to most people though, it was just a relatively normal looking first person shooter (FPS). It wasn't morally unjust....Well, no more than any other game in the genre. It wasn't about stealing cars or killing cops. And it certainly wasn't intended to give the younger player's an education in rebellion.
Pros: looks great, great fun, pretty challenging
Cons: could give small children nasty dreams, could give war veterans nasty dreams, unoriginal storyline
Summary: If you haven't played soldier of fortune then you are either too young or don't know what a 'good game' is. I bought the first solider of fortune by testing out the demo, I was hooked! I played the game until I finished the demo levels. I bought the full game as soon as it came out, and I'm still playing that now. You probably think what's so special about this game? Well you get to play a solider who has to stop terrorist?
Pros: Blow any part of the body off, Blood and gore, Wide range of weapons
