Excerpt: Skylanders is a great game. It has all the action and adventure anyone could want. The graphics are amazing, the storyline is excellent, and the whole idea of the game is OUTSTANDING. I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a new genre of games, and someone who likes to have a BLAST.
Pros: Challenging, Easy To Install, Easy to Learn, Engaging Story Line, Gameplay, Graphics, Great Characters, Great Sound
Summary: When I first heard about this game, I was only mildly interested in it. However, anything with collectibles intrigues me; so I picked it. Skylanders is actually a really awesome game for a lot of reasons.
Excerpt: I feel bad for the first person who posted here, since they haven't even been able to try the game yet. I hope they will be able to exchange it for a working copy soon. Skylanders has a good story, solid gameplay, and a rather engaging local multiplayer and co-op option. It's an extremely enjoyable experience and has plenty of replay value packed into it. The levels are all well designed and have many objects and details, but the textures aren't very good.
Pros: Challenging, Co-op and Battle mode, Cross Console, Easy to Learn, Engaging Story Line, Gameplay, Great Sound, High Replay Value, Multi-Platform, Multiplayer, RPG Element
Cons: Figures Can Be Expensive, Lack of Free Jump or Fly, No Online Play, Only one to two players, Requires batteries
Summary: Installing the game is old school clunky (they should have put the game inside the portal), but once you get past that you are in for a very fun game. It's simple to play, colorful, and swapping characters on the portal works flawlessly. There is no jump button, instead they use bouncing platforms. Even so, this is still a platforming game. If you liked the old Maximo series on PS2, Rachet and Clank, or anything along those lines then you know what to expect from this.
Summary: I give this game 5 stars because it works well (and anyone with any sense knows you check the specs before you purchase a game) and it's easy to work with. So innovative too. I love that my son can play with the family on the xbox but if he wants to play it on his own on his desktop computer, he can. I love that the figures can be used on the desktop or the xbox, it doesn't matter. If one of his friends as a PS3, they will play on that too.
Summary: When I first saw a screenshot of this game, I absolutely despised it due to our beloved Spyro getting a major change in character design that looks like a mix between some sort of insect and a dragon, and due to the fact that Spyro is not the main character anymore. Being a true Spyro fan, however, I took the risk and bought the starter pack. After playing for an hour, my view of the game changed (almost) completely.
