I was skeptical

Daniel Kaye, Amazon

  • Summary: I bought this game thinking, boring, tedious, couldn't possibly be any fun, but was I ever wrong. Great collection here.

A great classic game even better with expansions

Mike L. "GodOThndr", Amazon
11 December 2013
  • Summary: I have been playing this game since its first release (if I recall correctly 2009), and the expansion sets have added new dimension to the strategic elements of the overall game. Entrenchment added star bases and better planetary defenses, and Rebellion added Titan level ships and other new race-specific ships and tech. For me, the mark of a great strategy game is "re-playability.

sins of the solar empire

RW, Amazon

  • Summary: Epic! I love this game. I'm just learning to play but so far so good. The pirates are brutal. The planet exploration and colonization give me hope... before THEY show up.

The Planet to Planet RTS that Starcraft Lacks

Creation27, Amazon
15 August 2012
  • Summary: I've been playing Civ and Starcraft most of my adult life. Then Sins of a Solar Empire comes along and I'm dumbstruck by how they fit perfectly between Civilization and Starcraft. For years I've wondered why Civilization or Starcraft haven't made a top down Space Empire game. Stardock stepped up to fill that niche in a big way. If you like Civilization and Starcraft, then you'll really enjoy Sins of a Solar Empire.

  • Summary: Three words... GET THIS GAME!!! This is the best Strategy game I have ever played (aside from SC II and a lot of others). Pro's: Great Online Game-play Experience with friends, realistic options/combat (well as realistic as you can get it), great community fan/Mod base (Get the Star Trek Mod with it trust me it's great I use it constantly), and much much more. Con's: Zero, Zip, Nada, 0...

finally!

Dan, Amazon
11 November 2011
  • Summary: Except for Galactic Civilizations, there hasn't been a 4X game in space that I enjoyed since MOO2. But Sins of a Solar Empire does it for me. And not only is it a great game, the blend of 4X and RTS is brilliant. I really enjoy this game. One downside is I was hoping there would be a larger online community...

Great RTS

PFB, Amazon
20 June 2011
  • Summary: The Trinity package for Sins of a Solar Empire is a must-have for any RTS gamer. Three unique factions each have a rich and diverse array of abilities that create a nice balance of strengths and weaknesses. In addition, choose your strategy to win: military might, economic power, cultural hegemony, diplomatic relations, or any combination of these. All are viable, none are a sure bet.
