Summary: I placed this game as a kid when it first came out, and the game is as I remember, only maybe a little bit tougher. It's still educational and simple for one of Maxis' early Sim games. It's quick to pick up, with the tutorial and you can play like a kid with a magnifying glass if you want. Glad to have the game again, even if it's 20 years later!
Summary: I've played everything from Earthbound to Zarklon, and everything in the early "sim" series will always rank towards the top of my list. This game (among many unknowns, but that's for another product review)provides a certainly welcome diversion from the grimy massacre seen on most systems these days. I've had enough Call of Duty. let's play some Sim Ant!
Summary: The other reviewers describe the game accurately, so I don't have to. I just want to let everyone know this cd will not play on your pc unless it's a very old Operating System like Windows 95. Compatibility Wizard will not help you here. This game is free to download from a lot of sites, but actually playing it isn't easy, I bought the cd rom, which I couldn't use at all, then had to download DOSBOX and Sim Ant in DOS format.
Summary: While I happened to play the SNES version of SimAnt many years ago, I still think fondly back on it. The game is like none other. You cringe when the lawn mower is coming, you despise those mercilious red ants when they come and take your eggs away. It gave me a new respect for the noble ant (yes, I said noble) and the tribulations from it's own kind and of the huge human giants that happen to inhabit it's world.
Summary: Most of your reviewers agree that Simant is a fantastic `game` - I don't say game, because it is an educational program that gives players an insight into ant life - their life and problems. I've been happily playing it in its original DOS mode for years - it's my favourite game. Trouble is that now I've updated my computer SimAnt won't run. It's like losing a member of the family.
Summary: except my nest ALWAYS got taken over by the stinkin' red ants!!ugh i went to experimental mode after that sprayed the queen ant and connected both nests to eachother cause it was so annoying to get killed all the time but i know there's humans i saw them once but where the heck is the dog? i don't get it the instructions said watch out for the dog,the reviews said there was a dog but i got in there and...where did he go?
Summary: OMG this game is so cool. I feel sooo evil when a kill all the red ants...hahahah heh. Anyway, it's such a cute little game, and amazingly entertaining.Very interesting. Something fun to play on a cold, rainy day, or a hot, humid day for that matter!!! Sorry I got carried away. Interesting and comes to show there is a PC game for virtually everything!! Hehe!
Summary: This game is very very fun. You can live the life of ants, which I've always wanted to do! You can fight the red ants, spiders and ant lions. Collect food to keep your colony alive (especially your queen!). Play differnt game modes and explore different environments! I love this game, try it!
Summary: I remember playing Sim Ant when I was a kid. It was a load of fun, and for its age and time, I thought it was a brilliant and outstanding game. Now, it didn't help me pass biology in high school or even zoology in college, but it did help pass the hours of boredom. Basically, for such a low price, it will grab your kids attention.
Summary: Basically, you are a yellow ant in a coliny of black ants and you are trying to rid the yard of the red ants and run the humans out of their house. Or, you can play expiremental mode, where you can do almost ANYTHING you want!(bombard the yard with food, make ants, make walls, rocks etc.) Maxis should make a "sim ant 2", with more yards (and possibly have something special in the doghouse, such as, mabey, a dog?
