Summary: This is a Strategic Simulations game. It is very dated, being an old game. Works ok on my Windows 7 PC. Not spectacular. But there are no really good submarine games out there right now, so it is better than nothing.
Summary: I have always wanted to okay this game. I finally got it and I was really amazed at the over kill on details that were involved in this game! To a degree I can understand why but OMG its just insane what you need to do just to move the sub let alone try to survive. If the details were stepped down ALOT on a future version that would be great but I would not hold my breathe! Also if you cannot win the first mission you cannot go any further!
Summary: Hi my silent hunter 2 stoped working So I bought Silent Hunter 3, Good Game however not as real or should I say not as much as a simulator, I prefer a simulator type of realism over gaming quality.
I am not too happy with the quality of this product.

Summary: When the action of the game is to its' highest level and one has to make faster moves the pointer on the screen goes haywire. Sometimes it freezes and sometimes it is uncontrolable. Just when one needs the controls to work, they don't work properly. Other than that I love the game.
Summary: Silent Hunter III is a World War II submarine simulation set in the North Atlantic. You can captain various German U-Boat models at any time during World War II. It is a very well-done game and can completely consume you. The game as sold is pretty good. Although the crew management system is painful and time-consuming (or time-wasting), this game is lots of fun played in the campaign mode, where your crew's experience increases with each successful patrol and your own...
Summary: This game is a really great simulation, you get a very good feel for submarine warfare and logistics. I've been a fan of submarine simulations, going back to GATO and Silent Service in the '80s. I know submarine simulations and this one is extremely well done. However, Starforce copy protection does suck. It literally sucked the life out of my PC.
Summary: Strengths: Graphics, renown system, customizable difficulty settings; patches and continuing support from Ubi. Weaknesses: StarForce SilentHunter III is the long-awaited sub sim from Ubi that many (including me) hoped would finally set right the many wrongs of SilentHunter II. In many ways, it has accomplished that. Sims tend to be niche market games, but one of the best things Ubi did with SH3 was make it very open to modification.
