Summary: I got this game for my 9 year old son, who is enthralled by U-boats. He watches everything about them on History Channel and Military Channel. He has been able to receive his missions, sortie into the North Atlantic and sink ships.
Summary: As someone who has not played the other Silent Hunter games, i can say that, as a game this is quite enjoyable. Could have been more in depth (no pun intended) But the game still requires some tactical thinking.
Summary: Reading through all the reviews, this, the latest of the Submarine simulators, has received many bad comments, compared to its predecessor Silent Hunter 3. Please read on! Silent Hunter 5 (Forget Silent Hunter 4 if you prefer the German Uboats, as SH4 is based on the Americans against the Japanese...
Summary: An excellent naval saga across the World War 11 period with perspective given from the German point of view. It is a game worth buying, even though it is not without it's "niggles". The main one being that there are no set instructions to the game. Therefore, it is very much trial and error.
Summary: Wonderful game, epic campaign, realism is great, water effects are beautiful, Learning to play the game may take a little while though this investment pays off as you are rewarded with a very well rounded game.
Summary: The game is more captivating than SH3 because of the interactions within the submarine and of the novelty of the missions given. However, even if I played only a bit I noticed some bugs with enemy ships which seem to be half sunk in the water.
Initially flawed, but has been drastically improved.

Summary: OK, Ubisoft got slack and released this fully flawed. The last patch from them improved many things but by no means all the issues. The guys and gals over at subsim.com have poured their hearts into getting this game to be as good as it should have been, and are well on the way.
