Summary: To address the critics below: The game can be demanding on older systems, but runs flawlessly on mine (Phenom II 965, HD 7850). CTDs are rare, but can happen. I haven't had one for a very long time, though. And the always online DRM is no longer forced (can be disabled in Uplay settings), the only thing that requires internet connection is a couple seconds of synchronizing save games with the server.
Summary: Someone please make a patch so SH3 can be played on the new Windows! Or, better yet, plug in the SH5 Graphics into the SH3 engine!!! Because SH5 is SOOOOooo boring. Sooooooo system demanding...when it doesn't need to be (my system should hack it with no problem but this game is sticky). and, finally the game is unfinished. Not to mention the worst....you have to be online to play it.
Summary: I have played all the Silent Hunter games except for SH2, this game is by far the worst Silent Hunter game EVER! All the keyboard shortcuts are wrong, the crew is more retarded then normal, there are still tons of bugs years after release, random crashes, etc. I would say this game is worth about 99 cents, it's a complete POS game by a complete POS publisher. Just don't by Ubisoft games anymore, I know I won't.
Summary: I was pretty disappointed with this game. Really looking forward to getting it, but if you don't have a lot of time to play, don't bother! You spend a lot of time trying to get to and find the enemy ships (probably realistic, but not great for a game!), and little time with actual action. Perhaps I'm too used to first-person-shooters, where there's much more active game play, but I found this pretty dull and taking too long to get to any action.
Summary: Silent Hunter 5: Battle of the Atlantic GOLD edition [Download ] silent hunter 5 battle of the atlantic This has to be the best submarine simulation/game I've ever played. Now granted, I don't play with 100% realism; however, I do play with realism settings pretty high. I like the 'survey' sim approach:) Although I do push myself a bit further at times, heh. Forget most of the low review scores please.
Summary: Rushed and half Broken. Having played SilentHunter3 (a good but very mixed experience), I waited till 2013 to get SH5 for £4, hoping most of the flaws had been ironed out. No luck. I really wanted to like this game, but even with all patches and some mods, its still a mess. It takes forever to load, the interface is bad, the graphics are not as good as the trailers suggest, It is too arcade (no matter the difficulty setting), the music and voice acting is bad, and the...
Summary: I have no trouble with any of the other Sllent Hunter games, but, Wolves of the Atlantic does not operate properly. The program is very jerky, and there was no imformation on the controls. There was no paperwork with the disc. I had great expectations and hopes, but, not so. If there is fix for this problem, Please let me know.
