Summary: I wasn't sure about this game. I like the Civilization games, I don't have many games for my new Mac, and this was on mega-sale, so I tried it. Maybe I shouldn't have done that, because I've wasted a LOT of time playing it since then! Great strategy game. Not turn-based like Civ, everything happens in real-time, although you can pause it to think.
Summary: Very addictive game. I have played hours upon hours now and neglected my family and chores in the process. I finally backed off and now play it every once in awhile. Most of it is XML file driven and I learned how to edit the files to change various settings along with adding industries, goods and cars to the original maps. This kept the game "fresh".
Summary: Helps me unwind after a stressful day. I enjoy the graphics and motion. The challenges are pretty good and it's been a great value for the money. Certainly worth it if you enjoy these type of games.
Summary: Awesome product, arrived quickly. I worried it would be too much bulk and the flip cover would be a hassle, but I've found it only stops me from doing things I shouldn't be doing anyway (mainly looking when I receive a text while driving)
Summary: This game is great for me (62+yo) I love the graphics where the engineer in the steam engine leans out the window and waves! The game play is streaght forward and relitively simple while still challenging. For those "gamers" out there who like a real hard challenging game that keeps you guessing, this would bore you fairley quickly and I would suggest Railroad Pioneer instead. If you like graphics then this is the game for you.
Great Game - Online Internet Playing Turned Off November 2012
M. Wright, Amazon
26 December 2012
Summary: I've been playing this game for years and just wanted to say that the option for playing online has been removed in November of 2012. If you log into the Internet with this game in multiplayer mode, it says "sorry, network services for Sid Meiers Railroads are no longer available". Playing others online makes this great game ten times better... hate to see it go. Write a letter to 2K if you wanted the Internet multiplayer option, which is still being advertised.
