Fun and addictive game

Summary: Fun and addictive game. It runs good, for the most part, but tends to crash when there are too many trains. That usually doesn't happen until the very end of the game. I've only had it happen once before the time period for the game ended, but I already had won by then.
this is not quite as good as the old Railroad Tycoon 2

Summary: Works more or less most of the time on my 2009 iMac. Of the 8 or 10 scenarios, a couple work for half the game, and then weird visual stuff begins to happen and there is no point to continuing. In some ways, this is not quite as good as the old Railroad Tycoon 2, as it is devoted mainly to buying and selling stock rather than building and running a railroad. Still, it does offer several hours of fun before you have played all the scenarios enough to master them.
First game on our Mac. Avid Railroad Tycoon player ...

Summary: First game on our Mac. Avid Railroad Tycoon player on the old PC and was hoping for the same. Entertaining game but not nearly as complex or challenging as Railroad Tycoon. This was not intended as a Mac review but the options on the Mac are very limited.
Summary: I love this game, it's a real time-burner. Once I get all the trains going, my computer can't handle the graphics or something and it shuts down. It only has an i3 processor, so if you don't have a faster processor than that, it could be frustrating.
Sid Meier's Railroads fun game to kill time if you have some!

Summary: Sid Meier's Railroads is a fun strategy game but it often gave Windows XP a difficult time. Currently, I am having some bugs while playing it on Windows 7 Professional, but hopefully I'll get it corrected soon.
Summary: Bought the game because I have purchased all the Civ. games and the original Railroad Tycoon. Since the Civ. programs were great and Tycoon was enjoyable, I thought Railroad would be as good. Don't get me wrong, I love the game. I just have to continually saved the game, especially after a lot of building. If I don't, it will close the program and I will lose everything after the last saved point. The patches do not work, I have tried them all.
Summary: This is an old game that's really fun. It is kind of glitchy so you need some one around who know how to keep it running. You can also save alot. It was just what I was expecting. Having fun with my trains.
Summary: FOR THOSE WITH CRASH PROBLEMS, I too had crash problems when first loading the game. I did a little researching with google and found that the game doesn't play nice with Vista/Windows 7, but people have fixed this issue. There are numerous web-sites telling you have to fix the .exe file for the game so it runs smoothly with no crashes. Some web-sites even have the fixed .exe ready for download so you can just replace the one in the game file. Wasn't hard in the least.
Summary: This game is easy to get into. Track building is as simple as clicking the start, then clicking the end, and it's done, complete with tunnels, bridges, turns, etc. (AKA you don't have a bunch of big turns, med turns, small turns, straightaways, switches, and s-bends that have to be connected) Train selection is pretty good for when it was made, goes from the 0-4-0 Grasshopper all the way to modern diesels.
