Summary: This game has done nothing but crash since I first installed it. I have been playing games since 1995. I probably know every trick to correct such problems. I thought there might be someone with a solution. So far I have tried everything suggested. No solution.
Summary: I love this game, it's a real time-burner. Once I get all the trains going, my computer can't handle the graphics or something and it shuts down. It only has an i3 processor, so if you don't have a faster processor than that, it could be frustrating.
Summary: This game was not meant to be the next instalment of the Railroad Tycoon seiers, Sid Meier visted a miniature train mesuem in Germany and wanted to make that into a game, and thats exactly what he did. So if you like model trains or miniatures this game is perfect for you.
Sid Meier's Railroads fun game to kill time if you have some!
5 July 2013
Summary: Sid Meier's Railroads is a fun strategy game but it often gave Windows XP a difficult time. Currently, I am having some bugs while playing it on Windows 7 Professional, but hopefully I'll get it corrected soon.
Great Game - Online Internet Playing Turned Off November 2012
M. Wright, Amazon
26 December 2012
Summary: I've been playing this game for years and just wanted to say that the option for playing online has been removed in November of 2012. If you log into the Internet with this game in multiplayer mode, it says "sorry, network services for Sid Meiers Railroads are no longer available". Playing others online makes this great game ten times better... hate to see it go. Write a letter to 2K if you wanted the Internet multiplayer option, which is still being advertised.
Summary: Very disappointed that the entire emphasis seems to be on "Great Graphics", the orginal game was easier to actually manage and modify the simulation. This version seems to be lacking in top view management and ability to easily modify, the simulation. I also hate having to have to put the CD in every time I want to play it. I thought that type of thing went out in the 90's.
Summary: I've been playing Railroad Tycoon games since the beginning, and the second and third games in the series are still among my top 5 favorites of all time. I had high hopes for Sid Meier's Railroads, the "spiritual successor" to those games from the man who created the original. But honestly, what this game actually is is a sequel to the original Railroad Tycoon.
