STEAM "UPDATE FAILS", SO UNABLE TO PLAY THE GAME EVEN A SINGLE TIME
17 February 2015
Summary: Game would not install via Steam!?! Even though I bought the hard copy CDs, Steam insists on trying to download 14.9 GB of "updates" to my PC, before it will allow the game to be played. I have enough space on my hard drive but the poorly written Steam installer keeps choking. After more than 5 hours of starts and stops, the installer now consistently fails in installing the updates. Make no mistake, YOU CANNOT PLAY THIS GAME IF STEAM ERRORS OUT.

It causes you to think not with just numbers of men but the quality and strength and weaknesses of all unit types causing you to think more strategically. There is no negative I can think of for this game and highly recommend it for anyone who loves the strategy and massive war type games.
Summary: So first, I own all of the Total War titles except Rome 2 - which I have no plans to purchase at this time - way, way too many negative reviews. Summary: Nothing can beat taking up the controls of a Gatling gun and mowing down your rivals! Adds effective artillery and modern units, but you cans till play as Samurai - this add on has improved land action, but at the expense of messing up the naval battles (forget tactics just get big guns and armor and pound from a distance in the naval game) A great addition to the best TW game of all time (Rome II has gone backwards)
