Pros: I came into this series late because I was still having so much fun with my other Total War series games that I could afford to wait for this bad boy to drop in price. I have been a fan of Total War since Rome came out all those years ago. The graphics are great and the strategy and AI is much improved from past games. Battles have a much faster pace, being more arcade than all the previous titles, but not as fast as Rome 2 has come to be. When I think of all this gam...
Summary: I am quite pleased with the Total war series. My only heartburn is the add-on packs that keep being introduced for additional purchases. The game has different levels of complexity and there is an element of strategy that needs to used so as not to be destroyed early on.
Pros: When I play this game, I look over at the clock and its 3 a.m.
Cons: The only reason I gave this game 4-5 stars is because I bought the "fall of the Samurai." expansion, which stated that it had the full Shogun 2 game with it, it did not. I am still extremely happy with the game and I didn't pay much for it. In hind sight I would by this GOLD EDITION! It was only few dollars more and it claims to include (Shogun 2, Rise of the samurai and Fall of the Samurai.) For what I paid for the expansion it was well worth it, but now that I've be...
Summary: the blood pack offers something shogun 2 does not have blood and dismemberment! when i first started using it it introduced a new for of strategy game-play! it has good graphics and neat forms of death, but the noises make it ! in stead of "ahhh"(fall over) its more like slice (head rolls away) ;) so I do recommend this game for mature enough players of......TOTAL WAR: SHOGUN 2!
Summary: In short, Fall of the Samurai is an excellent expansion that builds well on Shogun 2. The focus of the new expansion is the rapid modernization of Japan in the context of Boshin War. Within the single-player campaign, you will see a transition from the samurai units from the original title to gun-carrying and artillery units of the early modern period. As you would imagine, this transition is a big one, but the game maintains the same fluidity of combat of Shogun 2.
Summary: This is my first foray into the the Total War series. It's an interesting game, with a good bit of a learning curve (from someone coming over from starcraft II). Once I finally got the hange of it, it plays very well. The turn based play with real time battles is a good twist. Plus the ability to use naval support for land troops (and bombarding towns, armies, etc.) is very welcomed. I'd recommend it if the price is low and you enjoy strategy!

Summary: The second downloadable content pack for "Total War: SHOGUN 2", Fall of the Samurai deals, naturally, with the end of the samurai era and the beginnings of modern Japan. Fall of the Samurai takes place during the Boshin War of 1868. Unlike the Sengoku period of the default game, which was about warlords seeking their own power, the Boshin war is a dedicated "civil war" between those who support the Shogun and those who support the Emperor.
Summary: This is a great add-on to a great series of games, and for only $6! This add-on gives a lot of content and redirects the flow of the game. Instead of trying to overthrow the shogun and take over Japan, you start as a on of three families that will become the future shogun. The game changes certain aspects, you still create armies and still battle on a 3D plane, but there is more politics in this version.
Summary: This game is very enjoyable. The gameplay & features, graphics, and difficulty options make this game a lot of fun. The multiplayer avatar system is cool. The multiplayer coop or head to head with friends is awesome as well as the online battle list. My only real issue with this game that can be very irritating are the desyncs that happen on multiplayer campaign. The fact that you have to send your save file to someone I can live with since Im a patient person.
